Don't know why people get so wound up about these penalty things, it happens pretty often at other clubs too. It's not great like, I'd rather not see it on the pitch, but it's really not the massive deal people make it out to be. It happens on free kicks literally every game aswell, but nobody bothers about that. He wanted to take the pen because he wanted to score and because he took one last time we got one with him on the pitch, seems fair enough to me.

Love Richy as a player. However that behaviour was bang out of order, can't be having that going on. Good to see Allen step in and sort it. Been far too long since we had a General on the pitch.
Yeah Allen he’s growing in the side as a proper hard spine for us. In his play and attitude.

He's desperate for a goal and that is a positive. It's greedy, some might say sh1thouse behaviour, but in truth they are the qualities you want from a striker. You want someone who would rob their own grandmother for a goal. I think he just needs a goal as well, and he should get on a nice run then, the chances are coming for him.

However, I don't think squaring up to someone on the pitch, and moaning to the manager is ideal. Maybe there is a contradiction in what I'm saying though.

What worries me, is when he seems to lose his head and let it affect him. For 10 minutes on Saturday I thought he was a red card waiting to happen. Probably an arm around the shoulder and an acknowledgement from Ancelotti that he has a lot to offer other than goals would help. When he focussed again, I thought at times on Saturday he gave a masterclass in how to get the better of a bigger/quicker opponent. He recognised he couldn't out run James, and he won free kicks, throw ons, corners etc out of him. Some brilliant play, and like DCL critical in getting us up the pitch and getting over the line. The goals will come.

How dare he want to take a penalty?

He needs to take his pea rollers and sod of to Athletico Madrid.

I love him really, his Osman style pea rollers when through on goal are annoying me somewhat though.

There's wanting to take a penalty then there's squaring up to the manager's chosen penalty taker not just once but twice in a match. It's very childish.

I haven't got a problem with him wanting to take the pen, the problem was how aggressive he was towards Sigurdsson for the second pen that wasn't given, Richarlison literally puts his head into Sigurdsson, surely we can't be having that.

Yeah as I say, it's not ideal, it's not really what I want to see, and it's petulant, but in the grand scheme of things it's really not something to get worked up about. I just find it a bit bizarre that it's always penalties that get people's goat with this, it was like Mirallas was suddenly the worst person in the world when he did it and people still bring it up now, when there are a million other things that go on in games and behind closed doors that are loads worse.

It isn't a good look doing it, Mirallas went on too miss, that didn't help.

Maybe Richy was just as mythed and frustrated with Sigurdsson as much as we have been. It could be that he's seen Siggy put in shocking performances and angry that he gets the chance to take a pen to mask his ineptitude - a step to far haha.

No it's not good what Richy did but let's not over analyse it as the media will be already using this as an opportunity to create disharmony within our team anyway.
