2020/21 Richarlison

Saturday looks an opportunity to have him linking with Digne again. That might be whats needed.

And drop Godfrey? Who has been our most consistent player for about 3 months? Not for me, if Richarlison wants to stay in the team he needs to work harder and get his head sorted out. Everyone else has done a job when called upon to play in different positions this season he should concentrate on getting the basics of his game right again. If not he should be benched until he’s putting in the level of performance expected of him.

He was great before the ban and he's ben very mediocre since, the tactics don't suit our forward players. DCL, James and Richarlison up top and we sit back instead of using them to attack.

I get everyone’s worries about Richarlison, he’s badly out of form & doesn’t look half the player he was last season, but has anyone stopped to think he could be suffering mentally from the situation football finds itself in, he’s the type of player that plays to the crowd & feeds off this energy, without that, the spark just isn’t there.

Godfrey maybe to right back. But its a game to be a little more attacking

Against Newcastle we have to win, Digne left back and Ritchie in front of him. Godfrey’s been great and will probably be used at left back again, just not this game.

Indeed, some absolutely pathetic and disgusting comments about him recently.

Anyway, i think for him to be more effective on the wide areas he needs Digne behind him, or a full back who can get forward on the overlap. Then he can come inside.

If not then we should move to a diamond in midfield and play him and DCL together up top.
He can’t carry the ball 5foot mate, he deserves those comments. Why on earth should our worst player on current form, be exempt from criticism when others get torn to shreds when having much better games?!
Weird

Again though, Digne has created multiple chances while playing left mid the last two league games. He put two chances on a plate for our attacking players last night. Moving a side which is working (certainly defensively) around to accommodate a player who’s not cutting it at the moment isn’t the answer. It’s not even a certain that he will miraculously rediscover how to do his basics right if Digne was behind him again. What example does that set to the rest of the lads? Sorry Godfrey I know you’ve been our best player for 3 months straight but Richy can’t do the basics at the moment so we are dropping you so we can play him in front of Digne? Doesn’t sit right with me.

Been dreadful let’s be honest. Would sell him in the summer if a big offer came in, mostly because it’d allow us to buy a couple of quality players. Think he’ll recapture it at some point though.

We were defending, at home, for 70+ minutes, mate. A corner at the death does not change that

I think our tactics worked well. Even the best gameplan can be effected by a goalkeeping error.

You don't play Leicester by pushing forward and leaving big gaps to exploit. Unless you want to be get hammered, like happened to a top team like Man City.

Against Newcastle we will have more of the ball, so it's up to us to be more proactive. But I think we can be pragmatic under Ancelotti and that's a positive. Teams who only know one way often get exposed over the long term.
