2020/21 Richarlison

He wants to play champions league football and knows we're a long way from getting there. Even when the usual top four challengers like Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are off the pace a little, we still manage to not take advantage and have teams like West Ham and Leicester above us. And Villa not too far behind.

He is not good enough to play in the Champions League.

Something is not right, can't put my finger on it. Will giving him a rest be good for him or will he eventually play through this bad patch? Is he as good as we initially thought? Is he a winger? A lot of questions.
He is probably sick of playing for a team that plays on the back foot, remember him being very pissed off at Fulham when Ancelotti went very defensive 2nd half, the lad is a Brazilian international who wants to play attacking football, no wonder he is looking so fed up playing for the Italian Sean Dyche

I think he actually benefits from being the main striker up top. In his current role there's more of an emphasis on him to get involved in the build up play, something he's surprisingly poor at. Much better at scoring than he is creating.
He seems to have lead in his boots these days. He does do a lot of defending though, too much probably.

I could see him being a decent squad player for a Champions League side but we'd want around £70m for him if not more. Anyone willing to pay that will think they're buying a superstar. Not someone who works hard for the team and chips in with 12 to 15 goals.

Lol

Have you seen some of the jobbers that play Champions League?

Ryan Bertrand's won the thing playing left wing ffs

This time last year Richarlison was on fire. Now, he's playing very badly, in a team which has about as much attacking threat as my left arse cheek.

He's been crap, but our mental transfer strategy means it's him or literally nothing, as Carlo clearly doesn't want Gordon anywhere near the actual pitch, and we're about to flog our only other left midfielder (rightly so).

and this is why you don't rely on two players to lead your line for an entire season, especially two players who have been run into the ground in the last two years and one of whom who has dragged us through the last two years single handedly

Fallen off a cliff this season. Fair to say he’s been dreadful.

Start of the season he was fine - playing really well without the goals to boot (albeit he did have 4 by the time went into that first international break). Did a lot of graft for the team in December. From an attacking standpoint, he's been poor since he came back from suspension though, in the main.

In fact, never really been right since he got that injury in the West Ham game in the cup - ironically tracking back to make a tackle.

He shouldn't have gone to the Brazil camp but he's desperate to play for them because, well, he's Brazilian, 23 and it's his dream.

Also think that he's a player who massively buzzes off fans and i don't think we can underestimate the impact COVID has had on players like him.

He's 23, away from his family, lives with his cousin or something I believe, can't do anything other than train and be at home in a country that isn't his own.

At least with lads like Dom, Holgate, Godfrey etc they'll have their families around them. Holgate spent the first lockdown back at his mum's near Doncaster, for example.

Defo totally agree, he will bounce back imo , always have the opinion he puts a shift in tracking back helping out .when were all back in the ground god can't wait he will come alive even more ,hopefully hes just having a blip in form atm.

So far he's on track for 5 league goals this season. Down almost 60% on last season.

You know it's bad when your Brazilian international striker has received more yellow and red cards than goals scored.

Number of issues with Richarlison, who I rate highly and still do based on talent.

1. Wants to play striker, can tell from his body language he's desperate to score.
2. Moved to the wing, and now wants to be Ronaldo but he needs to go back to helping the team which is creating goals from his speed and dribbling.
3. Started panicking after not scoring in those first few games, then sat for 3 games, and got even more nervous not scoring as DCL kept scoring. He used to be scoring every game.
4. Running into players at the moment.
5. Needs to think about how to get tap ins rather than strikes from further out.
