He's quite clumsy these days. He never was before.

Nah, he's playing in the same style now as he always did. Just at the moment, everything is either too heavy, or too light - his touch is off.

I'm worried about his form but I see no ulterior motive for it. He's just in poor form. But, I'm sure it'll come back again.

But people having a dig at the lad today in the first half when for the first 30 mins he was the only player trying to threaten shows just what a fickle bunch we are.

The tone is set now, Evertonians and super Bloos on their TV channels will say we should cash in. And it's why we'll never go anywhere. Good players go through bad patches of form, but come back from them.

Off the ball, his work rate is there. On the ball, it seems he's always trying too hard to make something happen. But he's a key player in our side, in our squad, and will be going forward.

He turns 24 in May, he's younger than DCL.

I actually feel for this lad.

He is trying so hard but ge is getting worse and worse

At first it was a matter of forcing things and playing out of control

Now the lad clearly lacks confidence in every aspect of his game. He can't read when to make runs when the playmakers have the ball, he can't beat his man, not passing well, can't shoot. Just looks rusty out there. He sulks he gets frustrated even looks unfit.

This is a worrisome thing. I usually get upset with players but I actually feel bad for him because he is too good for this and he actually cares.

I haven't got a clue how to help him but he is hurting us and hurting himself out there

I don't think he's hurting us, as he's still a key figure. Six goals and four assists (it's actually 6 or 7 if you don't count crappy deflections which actually take away from an 'official' assist) this season.

He's not been able to get going. It's been a stop-start season for him. He's usually on 8-10 goals by now and you can tell it's getting to him, but he's never stopped trying.

Having more options is going to help. He can be rotated out and given that time on the bench to then come on and make an impact.

He's always got frustrated. It's his style of play. It makes him what he is. It is also a risk that when things don't go well, fans say he's sulking, but i've never seen it that way.

Carlo won't either, and that's what matters. A lot of development and work has gone into DCL, Keane, even Davies etc, since Carlo took over. It's probably time we see that with Rich now. Richarlison has been so good for us, he's probably just been left to get on with it. Now is the time where he probably needs that little bit of refinement to his game. It'll come, and coaching will help. I trust Carlo to do that.

Neither do I, the lad is still trying and it might not seem it, but it wasn't even a dig.
I think he just needs to stop trying to be the main man, focus on doing the simple things well and he'll play himself back in to form. He's got bags of talent, a fantastic workrate and a real will to win. I reckon he'll be fine. In a perverse way, his lack of form may turn out to be good for us if he does rediscover his form as we may get another season out of him.

I think we should stop calling Richarlison an elite player, and that he and JR are the best players on the team. JR is an elite player, but not Richarlison.

Richarlison is a completely average player, who on a scale is closer to Kevin Kilbane than Mbappe. This does not mean that he can not be useful, he has some obvious positive qualities. A large work capacity, and is good within the opponent's box. But he adds very little to the game beyond this.

Joshua King is in many ways the opposite of Richarlison. King is very good in many phases of the game, but is often ineffective within the box.

He's been so bad this season.

On his day when on form - after Rodriguez he's the best we have.

Two opposite opinions here...

Im going with the common sense one ;)

He'll come good, he's struggling but we know what he is capable of.

Also from what I could gather from commentary, he was making really good runs but wasn't receiving the ball.

The lad's first poor run in form since joining and he everyone has been quick to kick him. I reckon he is a crowd player. Feeds off the energy and it's a large reason why he has been down recently.
Richy strikes me as a people person, loves being around and helping people, I think lockdown and the pandemic is definitely having an effect on him.

I don't care what people say - this lad is world class (or was, which is still very good). I do think he needs a break though to get back to his best though. He used to score every week, he was running at defenders and scaring the bejeesus out of them.

The difference this year is that our system creates chances for the striker someone like DCL to have the last touch, from a cross. It's not like we're playing it around the box and trying to find someone to have a shot. Richarlison is usually the outlet ball, DCL is getting into position to finish it.

But Richarlison because he's not scoring easily, is making bad decisions some of the time to take opportunities that aren't there. When they don't come off he gets frustrated, but he needs to realise he didn't have to force it.

It's not just goals in my eyes. He seems to have lost the ability to make the right decisions. How often does he just randomly run into opponents?

He's playing based on what he can do rather than what he is doing. He hasn't turned into a bad player overnight, but he's got to play himself into form sooner rather than later, because - and I feel silly even saying this - it feels almost like he's trying to lower his importance/transfer fee and has been tapped up.
I think those things just go hand in hand really. He’s making poor decisions because he’s going looking for goals, and he’s lacking a bit of confidence so things aren’t coming as naturally. What I meant is, people are talking about him being tackled a lot and looking fairly one dimensional but he’s kind of always been like that. He’s a hardworking player who usually comes alive around the box, he’s never been your stereotypical Brazilian forward player. I don’t think his all round performances are that much different, but for some reason things just aren’t coming off for him this year.

He’s going through a barren spell in front of goal, but, I think calls to drop him or people saying he is costing us, are well wide of the mark. He is having his first prolonged dry spell since he joined, it happens, but even in this spell he is more than worth his place. If he is dropped watch the amazing number of chances created down our left side, it happens each time he is injured, he may not be scoring, but, he is no passenger.

He has not become a poor player over night, who knows why his form has dipped? He is a very young man living thousands of miles from home in a pandemic which is even more catastrophic in his home country than it is here. Perhaps this has affected his confidence but, do bear in mind before you say he is rubbish, he has carried this team on his back since he joined. As to him sulking, that’s just his demeanor, he’s been like that since he joined, miserable bar steward.
