In theory I agree, but in practice he is actually a massive problem. He’s just not really contributing anywhere near enough. He’s never been a brilliant footballer as such, he’s just been effective (I mean that in a good way not a criticism) but pretty much all season the effectiveness hasn’t been there, and so he’s actually just looked objectively poor.

Mad how often he either a) hits it to hard and out of play or b) literally runs into the defender.

Dunno what's happened to him this season but he needs dropping for a bit, massive problem when you don't have anyone even half decent to bring in you know no matter how bad you play you'll still be playing 90 minutes in the next game
 
He's in awful form and only he can fix that. He's far far better than the rubbish he served up yesterday.

I still back him all day to come back into form but we really needed him to step up in the last few months.
 

Yes he's out of form and that can happen to any player. But the bigger problem is his attitude stinks and has done all season.

Being a [Poor language removed] with Sigurdsson before he took penalty against Chelsea, same with free kick against Palace.

Exactly like he was before he left Watford. Manager needs to stamp this out, really bad for team spirit.

Been phoning it in all season, still getting picked every game.
 
If I was the management I would make it clear if you go to the two international comps then he wont be starting the season as the lad needs a good rest and it does us no good him coming back gassed.

If we can offload Benard could do with some reliable cover who could start the season in his absence.

Someone who can play across the front 3 line. Someone who could be a regular starter if needed/ Richy doesnt get his groove back. Someone like Wilf.
