Professional football is a paycheck. A really good servant of a club gets a life after football out of it.

The mercenaries are always going to prioritize international football, as it's their pathway to a life after football.

Just chalk this one up to priorities, update your priors about the player and move on.

Its a difficult one with richarlison because he is a big player for us but last season was largely inconsistent. If an excellent offer came in for him then I think the club should consider it.

We have to change to a model where no man is too big for the club. I think he is showing a level of irresponsibility with his whole Olympics saga, we are trying to build something at our club and him going to the Olympics after already playing a summer tournament is going to burn him out and give us a player back who is simply not going to be on it.

I just wander if we need more committed players for our project going forward. His performances last season can easily be replaced for cheaper but the conundrum is the richarlison of the season before that was significantly better and one we don't want to lose

Against Peru in the semi final

Duels Won | 11 (1st)
Shots on Target | 2 (1st)
Chances Created | 3 (1st)
Fouls Drawn | 4 (1st)
Successful Dribbles | 3 (2nd)
Dribble Success Rate | 100% (1st)

the great thing is Uncle Carlo now being boss of the biggest club in the world will tap up our player and then low ball us with a pathetic bid. Guaranteed. This is where having Benitez is going to help, he will have no qualms about telling the player and Madrid to do one, whereas you can imagine someone like Potter having sleepless nights about it all

On my phone on a train so hard for me to do links but lots of reports this morning that Carlo has called to get him to RM

wouldn’t want to lose him myself but if Carlo throws enough lucre at us then it’s good business

I am wondering if madrid came calling and says to him we'll sign you this summer as long as you're withdraw from the Olympics squad...what do you think would be his response. My guess is that he will say yes of course...anything you want ancelotti.

Cant blame him wanting to represent his country as he sees fit.

Our model as club is to buy young and then sell on for more monies when it suits.

It looking like it suits.

I have a different view. The Olympics clearly matters a lot to him, I think we would have gone a long way toward keeping him if we told him to go with our blessings and we’d have a day for him to hoist his gold medal to the crowd at Goodson after a game.

he’s good as gone now, for better or worse.

If true I wonder if Ancelotti is thinking he could get a good deal on him coming off last year. He’s knows he wanted a move to a Champions League club last year and was convinced otherwise. But he was also terrible for a long stretch of the season, so it’s definitely curious. He’d be a rotational player at Real, especially if Hazard is healthy, but he’s more reliable than the likes of Vinicius, Rodrygo, Asensio.

Laughing at people slating the standard of Olympic football and questioning him wanting to go as if the prize isn't an actual Olympic Gold medal, the pinnacle of most athletes career's. I'd rather win a gold medal than 3 points at Southampton.
Also in a country like Brazil there is far more pride and esteem into an Olympic football medal than we would have.
