Thinks he's far better than he is, which is a problem. Needs to get his head down in training and learn to become a better player if he wants a move to R Madrid.

He was outshone by the likes of Bamford and Watkins in the goal scoring charts last season. If he wants to be considered a top striker or Forward he needs to slot more.

If he would simply commit to playing LM and contributing to team play he would be world class, but he is not happy unless he is the goal scorer and continuing to shoehorn him in to this squad as a ST will continue to cause us to lose games. This is compounded by the lack of any real wingers in the squad.

I am certain that due to how badly I would like to see him leave; he will be here for the foreseeable future.

Honest question.....would Watkins or Bamford score more than our midfield supplying the chances?
I think not.
 
When he came to us he was still pretty raw, not dissimilar to a young Rooney (I don't mean similar players, but similar unfettered ability). He seems to be encumbered now with having to think about what he's doing.

He's a far better player when playing on instinct - or just reacting. He actually seems to struggle when trying to carry the ball or take someone on, but he's banged in some amazing goals with his head and his feet when he just arrives or just shoots.
 

Would be shattered if he left. Is a very good player and could be a great player. Hopefully Rafael can get a tune out of him.

Imagine what we would get to replace him...

He is a very talented player who suffered from our shape and tactics. He got frustrated.

Counter attacking football will benefit him greatly. He got few of those opportunities last season, but the one that sticks in my mind was his goal at Anfield.
 
Genuine question to the fans who rate him so high (I think he is OK, on his day), how many season of only turning up ten times per season, would it take for you to question him?
For me, three seasons is enough, if I am honest two season was. The occasional bit of brilliance does not justify the other twenty odd games of little to no contribution, tracking back is not enough.

It always amazed me how fans see players differently and this is an example of that
