He's definitely back. My boy (who knows nothing about football btw) sent me this today. He works in Liverpool for a Covid testing company.

This is all well and good, but people need a break for their own health. It's great and all that Richarlison is making himself available, apparently, but he will not be able to perform to his best without proper rest and recreation. Let's not be duped here. The lad put playing in the Copa America in the middle of a grotesque Brazilian pandemic and then in the pitiful Olympic football tournament ahead of resting, recovering, and preparing for the season ahead. He's made his choice. He can dress it up now as some form of sacrifice for Everton by not taking a holiday, but that's window dressing. Everybody needs a break. Richarlison simply decided to forego his - which will now impact his club - to chase international honours. In a normal season, with no pandemic, nobody could argue about him going off to the Copa. It is a major tournament. The Olympics? Nah, sorry. An under-23 circus that few outside South America take remotely seriously.

If he really wanted to give something back to Everton, he'd cry off the next set of World Cup qualifiers and take a holiday then. But he won't. I hope Benitez sends him away on a break now and tells him get his head right. The last thing we need now is him coming back and stinking the place out - or worse, getting injured. He needs a rest, even a break for mental health reasons and to avoid burnout, if not a physical break.

In an insane woke world full of snowflakes & utter cryarse fannies, this lad gives me hope that the human race isn’t ready for extinction just yet.

COYB!!!
I mean, if I only had to work until my mid 30s and earned hundreds of millions in that time, I'd probably come out with the same spiel.

He can't win, our Richie, can he?
I like him, but I don't believe a word most footballers say. He is our best player by a long way and when he is on form he is unstoppable. But we need to be seeing the same commitment on the pitch and that was lacking considerably by large numbers of our players last season, richie included. Or am I wrong in that analysis?

(I'm happy to be wrong in this case)
