@MikeH72, FFS, I said 3, name me 3 players! :D

Problem is, we're known for overspending in both transfer fees and wages. We appear to be a soft touch regarding recruitment, so I'm not sure we can do what other's on a budget have done anymore. We have lost our recruitment savvy. It seems like we recruit based on hearsay, not actual scouting. I get what you're saying though. I'd rather have the dogs of war back at this point. Spent years wishing for a better quad to realise I miss players like Lee Carsley.

I dont believe it to be an insult, its something Ive mentioned a few times. Ive missed a few games myself with the time difference...

Richarlison doesnt score many goals = terrible. 'Ignoring' (lol) the all round play for 90mins? Good record for Brazil means nothing apparently.

Pickford doesnt keep clean sheets = terrible. 'Ignoring' (lol) the uptick in performance level for over a year. Englands 1st choice keeper means nothing apparently.

I could go on...

iwobi makes a couple of passes leading to nothing over and over for years while being diabolical = great player?!?!?

Id be amazed if someone had these views that watched and understood what was happening for 90mins.

Reminds me of our other attacking player whose a highlights player and rated by alot of people who stick to highlights.

Its a moot point about £40mil as theres no way he'll go for that low fee.

But theres a good point you make here which is that any fee, spent wisely could lead to several positions being upgraded.

I hope he stays myself and extends his contract...theres plenty of others to shift out that can generate fees which adds up.

We have 2 main settings for player evaluation: 'terrible and quality'
If a 'terrible' player makes a few passes he's applauded, 'turned a corner' etc
If a 'quality' player doesn't score with every touch - sell sell sell
There is a special third setting for players that haven't played in a long time along the lines of 'we're missing.....' 'would be class if .... was back' '....would've scored that' etc
 
I'd love for him to stay. Don't blame him if he wants to go elsewhere given how most of his time here as gone. If we have to sell one, I'd prefer it very DCL

That's easily remedied, just walk away from a deal or two. No, we keep pursuing the likes of Siggurdson and et voila! On soft reputation is in its infancy

It absolutely does, but we have to learn to be patient. Patterson is in this bracket and has been written off already!!!

Both of them will be good signings and fit into tgd category of less expensive than BBC we have been paying.

Back to Richarlison anyway, I think we’ll do well to get over £50m for him.

I think we'd honestly be better off if we capped our transfers at like 20m or 25m for a player. It would force us to look harder for value. I wouldn't say that list is a European level side necessarily but it certainly isn't anywhere near the drop.

I think every player on that list would improve our squad in one way or another. I don’t like this mentality that “£35m only gets you an Iwobi these days” just because we happened to be stupid enough to make that signing.

We could probably build a top half squad for maybe 75m to 100m net if we were smart and caught a few breaks. Unfortunately I'm not sure we even have that much to spend.
