Yes, but he's the face of the denial to the fans now. He chose to say that. He could just as easily have made some evasive comments about him being an Everton player or something. If the club are even considering selling him now, it'd be a hand grenade.

Come on think you are getting all worked up about nothing, I think Real Madrid have no intention of signing Mbappe this summer, I think it's all posturing on the part of both PSG and RM, Real Madrid is 900 million in the red, yet they are going to spend 180 million on a player that would cost nothing next summer, that you can sign pre-contract within Jan??????

PSG look like a club that doesn't care about money and Real Madrid look like they are trying to sign a world-class talent, that can appease fans, the fact that it works out well for all sides if this doesn't land, PSG don't have to give Monaco 35 million and Real Madrid gets the player they want for nothing...

He's answered that exactly how you want your manager to answer it. I would expect if he is sold then it will not be with his blessing. I'm not a benitez fan but if he is sold it shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him with it's a stick to beat this board with.
