I dont think you will get the fees you think.
You're adding to the wage bill massively, and the Grealish money is gone. If you dont get European football next season, you will find the net tightening under the current rules. In fairness, they will probably change.
The wider point, is Gerrard has spent fortunes on older players, and you've gone backwards on the previous season. That would be a real concern for me.

Suprised as the hatred and ignorance on here from Everton Fans. We're such similar clubs and Everton usually highly regarded on our forums.
Not sure if links work on here but this is a fascinating watch that shows how our clubs have basically dominated League Football (invented by Aston Villa thanks to William McGregor) in this country for most of history, with Sunderland also in and about us for long periods too.
Most of the "big 6" are fairly recent interlopers. It's only since the formation of The Premier League we've really dropped out of that elite group.
It would be a concern. But so far two 29 year old Brazil internationals, a 28 year old French international, a 27 year old ex Eng international and a 22 year old who had just been called into the French senior team. Total expenditure about 70m. Hardly spending a fortune on older players.

Like us Villa are a truly great club with a wonderful history and a big fan base. However, they have won just one league title in the last 100 years, they only finished just ahead of arguably the worst Everton team in history this season and they have recently been in the lower leagues. If Richarlison goes it will be to a club on a different level to us - a PSG or a Real Madrid.
Richy did say last year that he wanted to lead us out at our new 54,000 stadium in two years’ time, but he deserves CL football and sadly I think he’ll be leaving this summer. But it certainly won’t be for Villa!
