Player Valuation: £80m
Which part is funny?!
We are very unlikely to sell to a club who normally finish well below us, unless it ridiculous money. I'd also imagine Richarlison has 0 interest in taking a backwards step.

Birkheadian !? Shurely Birkonian.Hes Birkenheadian
He only cost £4,700
And we think hes bloody brilliant
Poooooooooooooooooooooooooongo Waring
I agree we are spending but we are also selling. Last year we had 106m worth of player sales. This year we will probably sell Luiz 25m, Targett 15m, Davis 5m, ElGhazi and Trezeguet 4m (combined) and there are a few other fringe players we will get a few quid for. That will be about 160m in revenue in 2 seasons from players' sales plus we have pandemic losses. We got money for the high speed train and our accounts are actually quite healthy. The need to CL football is not for quite a few years yet. Top half PL finish will enable Villa to continue to invest in players. But, if we want to make the step to the next level then yes, we will need Europe and CL football. But I think the management team is well aware of that and appear to be smart business people
Well what have we done since 1981? Hmmmmm. This is laughable.
What have you done since 1981? You make our record look good. Nothing either side can be proud of but we've always been a Premier League team and have generally held our own in the top half.
I like Villa - always have - but you're on a par with the barcodes for delusions of grandeur.
I’ll one up you with a player I had on footy manager called godspower tower, who apparently does actually exist lol
I dont think you will get the fees you think.
You're adding to the wage bill massively, and the Grealish money is gone. If you dont get European football next season, you will find the net tightening under the current rules. In fairness, they will probably change.
The wider point, is Gerrard has spent fortunes on older players, and you've gone backwards on the previous season. That would be a real concern for me.

Did you see mcginn’s miss?It would be a concern. But so far two 29 year old Brazil internationals, a 28 year old French international, a 27 year old ex Eng international and a 22 year old who had just been called into the French senior team. Total expenditure about 70m. Hardly spending a fortune on older players.
I know Pongo Waring scored 49 in a season for them in the 40s. Don't know how many he got over all.Dwight Yorke had to score more than that for them surely?
Or someone in the 30’s-60’s or something
Is it really that low?
Nobody overrates the stature if their club quite like Villa fans. Even the geordies could learn something from them.If you asked 100 fans in the country, who was the bigger club out of Aston Villa and Everton, what do you think the response would be? I'd estimate 70/30 in favour of Villa and again, I mean that with no disrespect.
We've been signing a few Brazilians lately. I think you overestimate how good Richarlison is and our spending power. I don't think we're in for him, but if we were, I think we'd have a good chance of getting him.
Yep, it was terrible. I think Ukraine were the better side overall and deserved the winDid you see mcginn’s miss?
Using that measure you must be in awe of about 99% of the population.?Many moons ago then I realised how ignorant it was to label someone who's more successful than I'll ever hope to be "clueless".
Well what have we done since 1981? Hmmmmm.
Let me think, has Aston Villa done ANYTHING since 1981. Gosh. Oh Bingo! Just remembered one.
We were Champions of Europe in 1982. I knew there was something!
Oh also:
European Super Cup Winners 1982
Premier League Runners Up 1993
League Cup Winners 1994
League Cup Winners 1996
FA Cup Runners Up 2000
League Cup Runners Up 2010
FA Cup Runners Up 2015
League Cup Runners Up 2020
Suprised as the hatred and ignorance on here from Everton Fans. We're such similar clubs and Everton usually highly regarded on our forums.
Not sure if links work on here but this is a fascinating watch that shows how our clubs have basically dominated League Football (invented by Aston Villa thanks to William McGregor) in this country for most of history, with Sunderland also in and about us for long periods too.
Most of the "big 6" are fairly recent interlopers. It's only since the formation of The Premier League we've really dropped out of that elite group.
