Which would signal we only paid £40m for Rich in the end... not £50m.I don't think that is correct.
It is more likely to be 10% of the profit.

Fair point but I think it's just due to the competition especially with Raphina, Antony, Martinelli and others coming through in his position. To his benefit, Tite seems to think he's very capable of playing CF and he has a lot less competition in that spot, which for me nearly guarantees that he'll have a place unless something really goes wrong. It will definitely factor into his decision either way though, he absolutely loves playing for Brazil. Why would Richarlison’s Brazil place be in danger if he moved? Nobody is gonna pay £50m+ for a player and then not play them…
Clevz was no better or worse than Davies is at the moment, in a team that was supposed to kick on from just missing out on a top 4 spot under Bobby Brown shoes.
We have different goals now and one is just to have a functional side.
Would go out on a limb and say a 2015 Tom Clevz waltzes into this side 100%
I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree. We'll find out soon enough, I suppose, he'll either sign for us, in which case he'll be the "massive upgrade" that you describe or a non-entity that I fear, or move somewhere else and the same applies, or he'll stay at Spurs warming their bench. Not really. Cleverly was a free and part of a squad going into Europe. Schneiderlin was part of a team with aspirations of top 4 taken from a team already in there (and also one of Koeman's ex players).
We need a team and one with consistent players, good on the ball, want to pass, especially in our horrid midfield . The last player we had like that was Barry. It's not about stats and "coverage" or assists it's about function for me in an disfunctional side.
Someone like Winks would be a massive upgrade in our midfield which consists of players who can't pass or can't run. Winks can do both. So for the long term building, in with a deal with Richarlison, would make great sense to me equally with £50mill in the bank for a replacement.
Wouldn't happen though.
Davies ( when fit ) hardly plays.
We don’t need another, more expensive version of another midfield crab.

I'm hoping for one of the latter two options.
If this club accepts 51million for Richarlison then it proves we have learned nothing about the transfer market.
Same price City are paying for Haaland, who is a million time the player.
He had a release clause so completely irrelevantSame price City are paying for Haaland, who is a million time the player.
Release clause when he last signed the contract. Sake.Same price City are paying for Haaland, who is a million time the player.
