Hadnt heard of him

There you go though...we should be quoting a straight cash amount and then a lower amount with one or two of their youth players included.

Were never going to hit top 6 in the next 2 seasons...so lets spend that time developing youth.

The money we would receive (e.g £50mil + Devine + Scarlett) buys two or three new players as well.

I said this in another thread a while ago that we should be taking academy lads from bigger clubs like City etc. that don’t have much prospect at their club. Spurs have quite a few I’d look at like Harvey White and Bowden.

100%. Lampard is the attraction really and that would be the USP.

I agree, but how certain are we that we will be able to invest the money that we make? I'm not convinced which is the worry.

Unfortunately mate Spurs are miles ahead of us as things stand. They're always competing for 4th spot so pretty much every season are in some form of European competition whereas we haven't been in Europe for 5 years and the duration of Richarlisons stay.

Barring a cup win, I can't see us competing for the top 6 league places anytime soon without some amazing transfer dealings.
I agree they are miles ahead of us but it’s not like where they are isn’t achievable (with the right management etc). Are they miles ahead of West Ham for example? I’d say not, so they are operating at a level that isn’t that insurmountable. Infact I’d say it’s conceivable we could be there in the right circumstances. We have the backing and soon the infrastructure, just sadly lacking in competence, but a couple of correct appointments turns that around imho.
Comparatively the top two teams in each European league are in a different world to us and Tottenham etc, it’s those teams I would have expected his advisers to be pushing him towards.

As long as Conte is there and backed in the transfer market those circumstances are the worng ones...they will be better again this season

What price do you think we'l get or want?
I'm saying we want £80m but I think we'l get £60m... anything less than £60m would be a steal for a Brazilian international

Surely we would do what Villa did with Grealish and Spurs with Bale - get the replacement sorted before we sell?

What am I talking about, of course we won’t.

Without knowing how much is coming in, not sure how we could do that with the league having their beak in everything we do

I think 60 to 65. English pounds, none of this euro crap. Ultimately it comes down to who’s interested, that’s why Leicester got top money for Mguire because utd wanted him. And villa got the 100mil for grealish, no other team was ever paying that release clause

They are miles ahead of West ham miles and miles

I’d say he is, but yet to be realised. Manager of Derby and not remotely linked to any of their top talents which he’ll have seen personally. Depends who is making the calls.

But back on topic: sell Richy to the highest bidder we need the cash.

Spot on but I read in the news Spurs are looking at a cash plus player deal.

Think the problem is that we have to get the league to agree cos of the ffp so will most likely be sell he spend. But do agree with you
