2021/22 Richarlison

I'm not one of these fans who's out there claiming we're going to win anything - we're Spurs, bottling it is what we do.

But in the past 6 seasons, we've reached 3 cup finals (including the UCL), had three top-3 finishes and one top-2 finish. Sure, we didn't win any of them, because we lack the mentality and at times lacked the quality. But the claim that we don't compete is demonstrably false.

Will we win stuff under Conte? No idea, but he's our best bet, and streets ahead of Pochettino. Put us in three cup finals under Conte and my feeling would be that we'd win one or two of them. Richarlison presumably agrees.
I think that is fair.
I think the biggest difficulty that ye face may be keeping Conte long term, he really doesn't hang around any of the teams he has managed too long, but if ever there was a season where Spurs need to do well, this is it.

Tbh were going to get shafted but....
If bit part city player Jesus is worth 45 with 12months on his deal....
Richy is worth at least 80mill to us....
He's the main reason we stayed up
Unfortunately it isn't what he is worth to us that determines his value.
It looks as if the other big teams we needed to be involved have just not done so.

They're stats are being compared not their valuations. The valuations are a projection based on the stats.

There's no way of getting round the fact that Richarlison is as easily good as Firmino...someone who plays his football in a better team and therefore will find it easier to get goals and assists.

Again, I say to you and others: "stop making the case for that spiv Levy to rip off our club".
I see this type of thing said a lot, as though getting a game at a top side for years on end isn't a sign that you're a top player.

I don't think Tottenham fans are going to be blown away by what £60m is going to get them, never mind £80m.

Why though?
Palace had a valuation for zaha and refused to cave in for less...
Why are we rolling over and having our bellies tickled? It's spurs ffs...
I'd rather have Richy for two years and no fee than let him go for practically what we paid

Bill's theme tune

Levy stick a pony in me pocket,
I'll fetch the Brazilian from the van.
Cos if you want our best 'uns,
Give all our fans depression,
Then brother, I'm your man.
Cos where's the Arteta money is a mystery,
It's like the changin' of our mangers,
And absentee from Wembley.
But Moshiri's the one that's drivin' me beserk,
Why sell the club and force me out of work?
La-la-la
La-lala-la
La-la-la
La-lala-la.
Brilliant ? ?

We should replace the Z-Cars theme for this

What are you referring to here?

Whilst Spurs aren't a Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea, they'd be one of the most desirable clubs to play for in the country in this current era.

CL football
Huge new stadium
Excellent manager
Some of the league's best players - Kane and Son
London location
A club with a bright future

Aye, there might be something in at least having him til the world cup/Jan window which will probably be nuts.

If you want to win things you don't push for spurs....
They're currently two players away from being mid table...
Kane is stuck there because he stupidly agreed a crazy deal without a release clause....
Son gives them maybe 12 months of being also rans before a big club comes in for him....

There's only two things that players may look at compared to us... location and money

He goes to the world cup and plays a starring role in Brazil's results....interest from bigger sides...
Madrid for example seem obsessed with signing the standout players from these tournaments, particularly when their south American
We wouldn't lose out financially and could earn a lot more points with him in the side

But would that not be offset by him having 6 months less on his contract?

And besides, good luck telling him he has to stay here for another 6months, im sure that would go down great with him.

I'd be willing to bet there wouldn't be much difference between 24 months and 18months left.... especially if he had a standout tournament...
And I also think if we have him assurances we wouldn't stand in the way of a big side he'd be happy....
I think we'd be better off with him in the side till January than without
