I get that. But, unless Spurs sell his summer, I just cant see how he can be guaranteed to start in the PL nor the CL at Spurs. Maybe I am wrong.

Champions League football opens other avenues of revenue that astute footballers with a fairly big social media platform can exploit.

If Spurs buy Richarlison it is most likely just as a back-up to Kane.

I dont think its a great move for him. A step up but I think he has another level again. Although I'm sure Conte has told him how he fits into his plans and Rico must be happy if he moves.

We always knew he was going this summer. Unfortunate that it’s Spurs but in a way I’d rather it was them than United Chelsea or City. He stood up to be counted when we needed him during the run in. A good player who never disrespected us.

They're currently two players away from being mid table...
Kane is stuck there because he stupidly agreed a crazy deal without a release clause....
Son gives them maybe 12 months of being also rans before a big club comes in for him....

There's only two things that players may look at compared to us... location and money

That's looking at it through an Evertonian's perspective.

Spurs have been a relevant club for a good 10 years now. Qualifying for the CL numerous times, played in a CL final, been in the conversation for a title challenge (albeit not very seriously), had some of the best players in the World playing for them - Bale, Modric and Kane. Recently moved to the 2nd biggest stadium in the country and arguably the best currently.

Players don't just move to win trophies. Challenging for things and competing in the big matches also appeals to them.

What have we done in that time?

Again, get that. But Spurs are not a recognised CL regular team. They have had a very good few years. Conte will last 2 years, at most, based on his career to date. So a 5 year deal for Richie? IF he tears it up there, he will be Levy'd into going nowhere, unless RM etc etc pay well over the odds.

Its a cul de sac move for him as I see it.

I haven't checked but aren't they more frequent participants than anyone but City Chelsea and the RS over the last 8 years or so since Ferguson left United?

I know he wants champions league football but moving to Spurs seems such a waste. He may not join City if he’s staying in the premier league and would never join the [Poor language removed] because he’s a good lad but whilst he might not win the league at least Chelsea win a trophy every other season.

Spurs are doing some good business. I’d have them ahead of Chelsea in the pecking order going into next season, especially if this move happens. Chelsea have holes at the back and up front now. Raphinha doesn’t fix either
