Richarlison

Kids need a hero. (big kids too) Richarlison was one and I'd have him back in a second if we could.
Yup,
Football cant be all stats and xG, sell on value etc.
That goal in covid Anfield where James passed through the lines for Richarlison to score,
That there, that's why I love football and Everton.
One of those lads hardly ever played and the other got sold to balance the books
But they were the epitome of raw street football.

I could see him coming back here to play as a 9. Sure he does not have DCL's hold up play but nor does Beto. It would be pure sex to have Richy as a 9 with Alcaraz behind him, N'Diaye on the left and McNeil cutting in from the right. gives me the proverbial butterflies in my large tummy!!!
McNeil is not good enough to be a starter for us going forward in my opinion. Switch Richy for McNeil and buy a number 9.

That said, I don’t think Richy would represent a smart move for us unless on very low fee compared to what we sold him for or a loan with an option

This a 100 times over.

I have never been a football fan that cared too much about transfer fees or stats. Football is meant to be about passion. If you are into that kind of stuff then fair play, but now and again put down the calculator and think with your heart. Do you want to see a player playing in the same manner as you would, if given the chance. That is what Richarlison is to me, obviously his injuries are a worry but this is a different Everton team, a different manager, a whole different environment than what he had when he was here (especially at the end).

I feel that he would be a very good fit in a Moyes Everton side, with the likes of Ndiaye & Alcaraz there alongside him. If we are interested and it all works out, with the medical aspect, then I for one would be ecstatic that he would be playing for Everton again.

Playing in the same manner as we would WHEN FIT.

What a mad sentiment to post just as we're finally emerging from the years of financial profligacy that very nearly relegated us. Richy was boss first time round; give me those memories, and a new player in a similar mould whose body isn't knackered.

If he did come back I’d only want him playing 9. Don’t think he has the skill or pace for out wide.
Unfortunately, he no longer has the pace, skill or hamstrings. I feel we need new hero’s to emerge, instead of longing for ones of yesteryear. I am hoping the days of signing chronically injured footballers are a thing of the past and this clean slate we have is exactly that

for me it depends on what other players we get in

with his current form and injury record we cant afford to bring him in as a starter

so we need to sign a striker and a right winger to improve our forward line

we also need a bunch of other players all over the park

if they are boxed off and we have the capacity to bring him in on loan then great, as he loves it here and is versatile

we might get the same issue as he has at spurs though. he clearly cannot cope with not playing every week, but i dont think he's at the level as it stands of what we need. so is he going to enjoy being here as a sub?

could go horribly wrong

Yep, I hope we employ a lot more head and a lot less heart in our transfer decision making this summer. He served us well, time to move on. Our targets seems to PL, North West of former players 😄

Not a mad statement when you know nothing of the exact finances of the football club. I stay in my lane, I suppose would be the best way to say my stance on Richarlison or any other player and/or future transfer.

I am a football fan, not a business fan and I loved watching Richarlison playing for us and I would love to have the chance to watch him again. He is a player that comes with flaws but name me a player that doesn't. That is all that matters to me now, I want to get back the love of the game, I am never going to do that if I am constantly thinking of the profit and loss sheet and how that looks.

I am not sure on the whole 'body is knackered'. Maybe it is misguided and naïve but I really feel that he wants to be somewhere he can call home, maybe a healthier mind would lead to a healthier body?

He has missed more games through injury since moving to Spurs than he has started. Buying him - and you know where Levy is involved it won't be cheap - because we hope his body will magically repair itself when he's happy is along the same, overly sentimental lines as signing Gibson/Cleverley/Schneiderlin/Walcott/Rooney/Delph because of the "winning mentality" they'll surely bring to the club, or signing Dele Alli because "there's a player in there somewhere".

And just because you choose to ignore the business side of the game, it doesn't alter the fact that every penny spent on Richarlison is unavailable to spend on other reinforcements who would, in all likelihood, be available more than he is to justify the outlay. It also doesn't alter the fact we'd almost certainly lose him for free at the end of his contract because his knackeredness/wages would make it impossible to flog him.

The love of the game comes from playing decent footy and winning. We have literally seen first-hand how signing knackered/crap expensive players with PL experience affects our ability to do those things, and the first thing you want to do under a new regime is the same stuff we've been doing?

There'll be other heroes mate.
