Ridiculously bad recruitment

Compare our transfer record to Brighton's. Compare and weep.

Said it before you can stick Brighton's whole team, manager, coaching staff, board and owners and put them in an Everton shirt and play at Goodison in front of out fans and they would be equally as bad (although cost considerably less I suppose).

The passes they were playing back to their keeper and then around the back would send Goodison into moans and groans and they'd quickly lose confidence. It's easier to play without the expectation or a lot less anyhow - we get to mid table and we still wouldn't be happy.

Didnt the Brighton fans do that though last year. I seem to remember Potter moaning about the boo's at home games. Mad though. They dont have much to boo about.

The whole thing really does need a real review, why do we keep buying overpriced British based players? Do we have scouts in europe? South america? Do we scout lesser leagues looking for rough diamonds? If the answer is yes to any of that, are they just crap scouts or does someone higher up the chain keep ignoring them? We need to find where things are going wrong and correct it, this should have been done years ago.
Its very dangerous to do business with clubs like Lille. They are far to clever for clubs like Everton.

The signings Walsh, Brands and now Thelwell have made, I think us on GOT would have had a better success rate with getting decent players in haha

I'd give the job part time to @Zatara who seems to know every world star from the age of 12 onwards and @Nymzee who has a bit of European pedigree, finger on the pulse of the Germans and French.

I'd then oversee the 2 of them, earning quadruple what they earn which would be spent in lap bars and my other favourite pastime, which is knitting jumpers for little dogs
Now that’s proper management
Straight out of a Jack Welch book

Sides with smaller budgets understand where they sit in the pecking order and try to improve strategically. They buy, inprove then sell at a profit. We still think we're a big club who should never sell and buy accordingly. Arrogance is why we are where we are.
Nail on head. None of us like to believe it though, but it’s been a painful downward spiral since Moyes left.

There's only one answer to that - get in the players who can deal with it.
