The Met has fresh advice to the owners of businesses in London on how to deal with disorder.
It says they don't have to wait to be attacked to use "defensive force" to protect their premises and can "use something to hand as a weapon" if they feel it's necessary "in the heat of the moment".

Someone get the Baseball bat out

Well that flies in the face of actual law and reasonable force etc. If youre not being attacked but decide to defensively club someone i think youre treading a legal minefield.

Is right, I was just about to link that.

Spot on bizzies. Let them public arm themselves and volley them all over the show.

Just a thought. The prisons are all filling up, so why not let out rioters share a room with our worst offenders? After we explain to the inmate that they have to share their cell with these halfwits Im sure they'd give them a warm reception.

One mattress only. "Excuse me Mr Bronson, you're taking up all the duvet".

Just heard on the news that the guy who was shot didn't fire his gun and the bullet lodged in the police radio was a police bullet. Still doesn't make the rioting acceptable but makes for a lot of questions to be answered by the authorities.

Not bothered to be honest, wether he shot the bullet or not, the police are allowed to shoot if there is a danger, and the man had a gun, people thinking he's innocent, HE HAD A GUN. The police were right to shoot him.

He didn't fire his gun, but it was loaded. Is it the police's fault that he was a bit slower than them and a crap gangster?
Not really. What are they supposed to do, give him first shot so its fair?
