Like the public sector protests earlier in the year you mean? Not everyone on those marches was violent. Some were. Do you treat everyone the same?
Bit more on this here http://www.leftfootforward.org/2011/08/a-crowd-psychology-analysis-of-the-riots/
Spot on Bruce, theres an awful lot of emotive language being used at the moment and given most,if not all marches end peacefully ,its just that the press doesnt report them as sensationally if nothing happens in them.
I think everyone needs to take a step back and look at how things hsve been handled etc,i mean after all i saw one report that 70 youths where rioting, now i dont know about you lot but i've been to parties with more people there and most did the conga round the car park, knocked a couple of bottles over etc the usual, does that constitute a riot?.
No doubt you'll think thats a silly example i dont because it could happen,we've all seen daft things end up in court etc,we need a calm, clear head now this isnt the time to rush in and try bring about more laws to the police, they have enough as it is and i've no doubt that over the next few days/weeks people who where involved will be getting a visit and rightly so.
