Do you define Barry as a stop gap? someone who has played 115 times for us in 3 season (all comps)....?

I define a stop gap as a loan that comes in and doesn't work. Troare - Atsu, that type of garbage.

Not someone who martinez describes as "one of the greatest english players ever", who has played over 100 games for us in 3 seasons.

You can't just judge him on "money" signings, you judge him on his signings regardless of what they cost... because at the end of the day, HE signs them, he isn't left with them he signs players to fit a role in his system.

A system which doesn't work.

He's proven to be decent in the transfer market. Think if you're denying this then you may not get the board's ear.

If he has been told top 7 by the board and is hitting 11th again then of course they will look for another manager.

however if another manager comes in and is being given a task to overachieve by a few places then would they take the job?

I would argue, any club that doubles the transfer record for a striker who can and is scoring close to 30 goals, with a 1 in 2 average, has much higher ambitions than 11th, or even 7th.

I'm saying what's happened. There are some talking about a lack of reality. Well that's it. Not what I'm happy with but the reality.
Ambition is easy to talk about and I tend to think anything tangible is beyond people who always do.

Bit confused here. You realise dont you that i actually was posting to @oldblue + also am not actually writing to anyone 'trying to win an argument'.

I actually just replied to a heap of posts out of courtesy.

My own wish is that Martinez gets a fair amount of money in the summer which would equate to expectations rising to correlate with the fact that he isnt underperforming in the league by much at the moment based on investment.

For some reason thats caused a bunch of you to start bashing on your keyboards "like 3 year olds".

How very interesting that people with that mentality are not patient enough nor open to take other peoples views onboard.

More money to spend on positions we don't need filing and further evidence that our manager believes wel score more than the opposition. You seem happy with that but I reckon you just have nowt else going on in that head of ours other than thinking up crazy stuff to say that's the opposite of what most on here believe.

Under or overperforming doesn't matter. Fact is we don't win games and are in the bottom half of the league so very black and white at this stage.
