I would find it absolutely incredible if after coming 11th last year, and finishing bottom half again this year, he didn't get booted at the end of the year. He'll get till the end of the season just because we're not getting relegated and there's a bunch of gents at the helm, but he shouldn't. Nobody deserves two seasons of underachievement with a squad of that quality, and with the backing he's had. Make no mistake, this is his squad now, and he can't get them playing the way he wants them to.

Dont worry the squad wont be around much longer the way things are going. Can we rely on Martinez to replace them and hit the ground running next season. Doubtful. He'll want another season or two and he cant be given that the way he manages. In my view he hasnt the game plan to beat West Ham or Man Utd . Bring someone in now, temporarily if required, and allow the players to play to their abilities. Martinez is dragging them down with his phenominal football vision

Well this sums up some of the sheer nonsense we are hearing. Fans have spent a season suggesting the problem is results don't match performance. But it seems we go to Anfield and despite all the tension that brings and the sheer one off uncertainty that defines a derby, we want the players to know that a good performance won't matter without a result and a result won't matter unless it's deserved and without luck. Ignoring the fact that we are owed a whole chunk of luck against them.
Liverpool at Anfield. Should be fierce. Should be all about pride. And some of you are going there to judge your own team.

This is the position he has put himself in.

There are legitimate reasons for starting Oviedo over Baines tomorrow.

But if he does do that, he will be open to charges of vindictiveness.

Instead of just agreeing with Baines about something that was quite obvious to every man and his dog.

And pledging to do sommat about it.
