Classic martinez quote "another day we would have scored the winning goal". Thats alright then. Leave what you can do today til tomorrow. The buffoon needs to get his head out his derrierre
It's Watfords fault we didn't win today. Why couldn't they just roll over ffs?.

Just to point out you've accused people of putting words in others mouths and that we can agree to disagree,. Then in the same post said that people who disagree with you are putting themselves on a higher ground, and 'blindly following'.
Don't want to start a dispute but...

English is not my first language so I have tried my best to explain.

Higher ground and blindly support is not the same as calling people Kopites or saying others want Everton to lose is it?

My opinions are:

Higher ground - Some of them may not think it is an honour thing to do as Everton do not just sack manager this way.
Blindly support - 21 wins out of 69 league matches. 14th in the league. Ok if this isn't bad enough and finding tons of excuses for Martinez I think it's blindly support.

Calling others Kopites, accusing one wants Everton to lose and not winning the FA Cup - tell me based on what?

People want Roberto to admit the weaknesses in his media interviews - but is that necessary? Important thing is that behind closed doors he's recognising and addressing them - appreciate no evidence of that at present

Agreed - no evidence at present. I think honest talk is important though - not for the press themselves but in order to reassure us fans who pay our money and give our support that he is trying to fix things.

When I listen to Eddie Howe say (and no I'm not proposing him for our next manager) he says just the right thing about Bournemouth's performance - totally honest but still inspiring. Listening to Roberto is like listening to Rodgers or Benitez last days for RS. I used to laugh so much at these other teams with their poor team spirit and managers making excuses.

Now it is us who are a laughing stock.

@davek is a tremendous poster. He's single handedly shown those that needed reminding that turning on the manager at the first time of trouble isn't the way to run a football club.

No doubt he will be back in due course and will continue to remind you that priority 1 is to win the semi final that is coming up.
Davek is absolutely right in that regard - the negativity doesn't help anyone. Banging the drum positively in support of the manager, including through adversity, is the best way to help the team. Difficult for most to contain themselves though

For this to work relies on the powers that be at the top to act when necessary. Problem is the alarm bells have been ringing at Everton for over a year now - time to act and bring in Jose

Seems to be frowned upon on here.

I want him gone but I am happy to hear out the reasoned debate that posters who have a different opinion to me hold.

As stubborn and ferocious as he can be, davek does talk a lot of sense but too many people are so stubborn and unreasonable they won't accept it.

arguing with the poster rather than the content of his posts.
You're right guys, Dave is the only one here who isn't stubborn, is reasonable, and always sees other people's points of view in a discussion.

Oh wait no, he does exactly what @tommye said up there ^.

Interesting - yes if he can put it across in the right way - would certainly mitigate the fan unrest (myself included) to have some reassurance re how he's addressing the defensive issues etc. Could be doing him a massive injustice but without evidence to the contrary we're in the dark and assume the worst

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez:
"Overall I look at the game and, if I'm honest, I would've been disappointed with a draw let alone a defeat. It (the penalty) was a soft decision, but then all afternoon not a single break went our way.

"I thought the players deserved a lot out of the game, but the key moments went against us. A defeat doesn't reflect the effort we put in at all.

"The character in the squad has never been in doubt. We're growing in every game and the results are not reflecting the good work of the players in the league, I don't think we're getting what we deserved.

"But you can see the progress on the pitch nonetheless and if we keep improving as we are, we'll be OK."
