Wigan boss Roberto Martinez:
"Overall I look at the game and, if I'm honest, I would've been disappointed with a draw let alone a defeat. It (the penalty) was a soft decision, but then all afternoon not a single break went our way.
"I thought the players deserved a lot out of the game, but the key moments went against us. A defeat doesn't reflect the effort we put in at all.
"The character in the squad has never been in doubt. We're growing in every game and the results are not reflecting the good work of the players in the league, I don't think we're getting what we deserved.
"But you can see the progress on the pitch nonetheless and if we keep improving as we are, we'll be OK."
Never called anyone a kopite (other than Kopites), but I do think anyone suggesting they wanted us to lose would make me dismiss their views as irrelevant. Can't help it if you see that as higher ground. Plenty of people making the case to sack him who are still giving committed support to the team too. By your standards that's probably them talking the higher ground as well. Or maybe it just is the higher ground.English is not my first language so I have tried my best to explain.
Higher ground and blindly support is not the same as calling people Kopites or saying others want Everton to lose is it?
My opinions are:
Higher ground - Some of them may not think it is an honour thing to do as Everton do not just sack manager this way.
Blindly support - 21 wins out of 69 league matches. 14th in the league. Ok if this isn't bad enough and finding tons of excuses for Martinez I think it's blindly support.
Calling others Kopites, accusing one wants Everton to lose and not winning the FA Cup - tell me based on what?
Exactly where I touch yer ma every night mate. Not me.

So if we lose 9-1, are we winning the league?Martinez after the 9-1 loss Wigan Suffered to Spurs
"If you analyse the Tottenham game, at half-time we went in at a good moment but in the second half we conceded eight goals in 40 minutes, which is impossible to explain. It's a freak event."
"To lose 9-1 and then win the next game shows the character of the group and the leadership material within themselves, the winning mentality. I was extremely proud."
Later that season Wigan lost 8-0 to Chelsea
This is him after he became our manager talking about that 9-1 loss to spurs
"Those are the games that divide men from kids," he said. "It gives you a real platform to move on. After that incredible defeat, we won the next game which is something which is difficult to do."
In addition Martinez suggests the magnitude of such a result actually helped his Latics side stay up that year.
"You get more information about those extremes than you do in other situations," he added. "You get the same outcome – no points – if you lose narrowly, but they are less drastic.
"A heavy defeat helped us stay up, 100 per cent. That took us into a different level and the season after it took us to another level as we want to."
So basically losing 9-1 was the game that enabled them to stay up, a week after conceding 8 goals in 40 minutes he praises the leadership qualities throughout the team and the character of the players. For real we actually hired this guy...
I saw a few positives today.
Martinez seems to be speaking sense. Not 100% positive, but we can take a lot going forward.

On the other hand if you think people are 'blindly following' him then you may be right but you'll have to show me more evidence than them not agreeing with you.
I think your English seems good enough to know 'blindly following' is not just backing a view you think is wrong.
Love the Velvets and listened to a lot of Lou Reed when I was younger but not so much now. Saw him live when I was very young at Brixton Academy. So you a Lou Reed / VU fan mate?
Think 'Heroin’ would be more apt for here.
