ANY other team in PL would have sacked their manager in this situation.

Flores apparently leaving or getting the sack. For surpassing their prerequisite of staying in the premier league...

Our targets have not been met for 2 seasons and we are regressing absolutely horrifically, yet he is still in a job.

At this point, Martinez has done everything he can to get himself out the job - it has to be the boards decision when to do it. I think they need to take a lot of the blame for allowing this to continue, and i don't believe for a second its down to £2m.

I want Moshiri to show the ambition we all think he has by not listening to Bill, who is not a sacker, and do the right thing.

Its getting too sour and if he is here on saturday for the match god help him.

Mate if you have a scroll through my posts on this thread and the Moshiri thread you'll see that it is not Bill's decision, the Board will do as Moshiri demands. Martinez does not feature in Moshiri's vision of the future at Everton. The only remaining issue is timing, be it hours, days or end of season, no-one outside the club knows or has had an indication of his thinking on this subject.

Logically it should be now as there's no footballing reason for him to remain.

Esk, these rumours of it being down to £2m payment surely can't be the root of the issue in him not going yet - I can't believe in these days of the amounts of money thrown around football we are too bothered about £2m.

There's also the small matter of £1.2 million per league position. If Martinez stays I don't think we win any of the remaining games. We won't get 10th but there are 5 teams within 2 points of us, we could lose up to 6 million by keeping him on until the end of season

Hes saying that with cash to sign proven winners to supplement our gifted youngsters, Martinez may do a very good job.
I share the view.
I know lots of others who do too.
You're better than these types of posts Tubes.

See mate, one little niggling thing here. By signing proven winners, what he would want effectively do is sign players who can play in spite of him not for him. The same way the players dropped his tactics on saturday when they could see they weren't working again and had a go, signing proven winners would just encourage more of that.

And more to the point, what proven winners would want to play for a manager who is proving he can't get a team winning games?

I doubt it mate, it's like all the jarg stuff flying about. We have to pay compo , moyes is coming back, new conferences randomly announced etc.

If we wanted to sack him now then we would no question, if they want to part ways come the end of the season then they will keep silence until closer the time, or the fans force their hand

and they would be transformed into proven losers, a bad career move for professional footballers!

I think you are definitely right about it not being Bill's final decision anymore, but do you reckon he's got his face in the new guy's and is saying all the wrong things?

It's a real fear I have.

Equally though mate, wealthy people stay wealthy by not setting fire to money or giving it away for no reason.

If he genuinely thinks we are totally safe and can save £2m - or the wages of a mid level squad player for the season - what's the point.

And from a moral standpoint I wouldn't want to be giving Martinez a £2m pay off for his performance, would you?

No but guessing by the length of his contract he has left (which is 3 years after this year i believe), he will be due a large payout anyway. Thats why I don't believe these £2m things unless its a clause in his contract, or escape clause put in by us.

He earns £3.5m a year, the £2m is such a random figure thrown around. Regardless if its now, or later on - he will end up getting payment unless he resigns.

LOL - 2M comes straight of the top of the new TV deal. It,s laughable to even begin to think that way about the funding for his sacking.
