It’s staggering he still has a job at Everton. Since his admittedly great first season, Martinez has a record comparable with Walter Smith’s last two seasons with the club.

I’ve always admired Everton as a club the gives manager’s time and his supporters will point to the great Howard Kendall’s predicament as an example that things can turn around when all seems lost.

But our good faith and patience has been to our detriment this time. There’s been no sign that there’s even a possibility of improvement with a very worrying backdrop of player’s appearing disillusioned with him in charge.

We’ve suffered some heavy defeats and dark times supporting Everton in our recent history, but I don’t think I’ve seen my team without any sort of heart and fight in a single game up until that appalling night at Anfield last week.

Martinez should’ve been sacked on the spot after that but it seems there are others above him who share his delusion that he’s pushed Everton closer to winning silverware in his time at the club and that he’s capable of turning this mess around.

With the quite concerning levels of nonsense he's spouted to Carra la there, combined with the planned parading of Howard, it's almost as if he's just trying to see how much he can get away with before he finally does get the stanky boot.
