Get rid of the Spanish clown. Oviedo in or Oviedo out that is seven different right backs this season if I count right. Not sure if tyas also played there this season

SPL winners in last 16 years 2
Dutch winners in last 16 years 5
English winners in last 16 years 5
Spanish winners in last 16 years 5

Lies, damned lies and statistics lol

Dutch wins in the last 16 years: PSV 8, Ajax 6, Twente 1, Alkmaar 1

So dominated by two clubs, just like the SPL. But so what? La Liga has also been dominated by two clubs since 1999 but that's a very competitive league as proven by La Liga's 4th/5th/6th placed teams beating their English/German/Italian equivalents in European competition.

The true measure of a league's strength lies in how strong its representatives are against the rest of Europe. Here the Dutch are just above Scotland but below France and possibly Turkey, and way below the big 4 leagues.

Do we want a manager from such a league at Everton?

Ajax may have won 6 but before De Boer they hadn't won for the league for 7 years. He comes in and they win 4 in a row, which is pretty impressive.

He's like the Walter Smith of the Eredivisie: Walter won the SPL 3 times in a row after a period of Celtic dominance. Before that Rangers won only 1 in 5.

De Boer in!

Don't you think it's a little immature comparing Frank De Boer to Walter Smith?

Why's that, pal? Walter's won many more trophies than Frank in a similar league, but was found wanting when he tried his game in a major league. De Boer is unproven in a major league, he'd be risky as an appointment when what we need is a proven winner.

Other Eredivisie-winning managers who tried their luck in the Prem:

Martin Jol
Steve McClaren
Ron Koeman
Van Gaal
Guus Hiddink
Bobby Robson
Advocaat

A mixed bunch. Some with success, others rather middling...one got his Prem club relegated.

Sure, the Eredivisie is a step above the SPL, but it's below at least 5 other European leagues. There's no knowing how De Boer will step up.

Just saying we need some perspective in thinking he's a guaranteed sound appointment.

Theres a reason hes on 90% of peoples ignore lists on this forum.
