The only good thing about Everton right now is knowing that Martinez will be gone soon, with someone else in his place with a fresh ambitious outlook for the club.

As if he's the 14th highest paid manager in world football.

He's an absolute blagger who chats absolute wham, he never answers a question directly, uses ridiculous phrases to put you off the scent and is overly positive about everything. We've basically had the football equivalent of Uri Geller in charge for the past 3 years. And look where his psychological spoon bending persuasion has got him.

Let's not kneejerk and give the next fella a bumper new contract after a one decent season next time.
Brilliant!!!

I don't disagree....but it's the Eredivisie and De Grafschapp are like Dagenham Reserves. That league unfortunately is no indication of form.

You are right mate and at the end of the day there is an element of risk attached to anyone we may get regardless of what league they may come from.

Form can also be relative to the time in which it is assessed - Mourinho seems to be getting some people very damp in the nether regions - yet recent form sees him sacked by Chelsea for losing a talented squad and them underperforming (sadly that has a familiar ring). Although yes his form is of this league.

Pellegrini also has recent form of this league and is a done deal in some opinions - but again hasn't exactly set the world on fire recently.

I haven't got a clue where I would go If given the choice and it was down to me to decide - I just know we cant carry on with another season of this.

The supposed "Nice Guy" Has been throwing his own players under a bus.....

We played last week and we had all the attributes you need to win a football game,” Martínez said. “Saturday is a contrasting performance, we got caught up into what was a celebration for the home team and we didn’t look ready.

“A young player who could maybe have been caught by the occasion was Matty Pennington and he was the only player who played with intent, with meaning and desire and it is a shame no one else on the pitch could match that focus.”

If we lose against Sunderland on Wednesday, will I be remotely bothered? No.
If we win against Sunderland on Wednesday, will I be remotely bothered? No.

Our season is a dead duck. It was a suicidal duck until about October, then it simply gave up and drowned itself. I couldn't care less if we get battered 10-0 on Wednesday. If we do get battered, at least it will make Roberto's position 100% untenable. If that makes me a terrible fan then so be it.

Know exactly what ya saying there mate, im in the not arsed category myself. Rafael will obviously hope that our "small club", as he once labeled us, will do the biz on Wednesday. If we don't and lets be honest, can anyone see a victory from this current squad against a team battling for safety ! Then i will have a smug smile that the "small club" could not do HIM a favor :

On the “small club” jibe, Benitez said: “It is not relevant. Everton is a team that have very good professionals and they will try to win.”
Benitez is unlikely to put himself through the torture of watching Everton’s trip to the Stadium of Light.

Still not taking any blame himself. It's never ever his fault.

Roberto Martinez's Everton sit in 12th place in the Premier League table with two games to play
New major shareholder at Everton Farhad Moshiri will decide when Martinez is jettisoned with the spineless surrender at champions Leicester City on Saturday laying bare the need for change.

Everton had hoped to reach the end of the season without firing Martinez, but the club’s hierarchy have been forced to reassess that with Wednesday’s trip to Sunderland preceding the final home game of a poor campaign against Norwich next Sunday.

The agent of Ajax coach De Boer claimed his client would “love” to join the Merseyside club and he will be one of a number of names under consideration.

Roberto Martinez's future at Goodison Park looks increasingly uncertain, but who could replace the under-pressure Toffees boss?

“He would love to join a club like Everton or Valencia,” said Guido Albers. “It’s all about the right philosophy and how they play football. That is what Frank is looking for.”

Fellow Dutchman and Southampton manager Ronald Koeman will also be discussed by Everton’s board, alongwith the likes of Germany coach Joachim Low, outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, former Everton boss David Moyes.

Martinez had to endure more protests from Everton supporters during the feeble 3-1 defeat at Leicester when substitute Kevin Mirallas scored a late consolation goal but could not deflect the lack of on-field leadership three years into the Spaniard’s reign.

His malfunctioning team has faced 68 shots on their goal in their last two away games, but the Everton manager argued the win over Bournemouth showed he had not lost the dressing room.

“We played last week and we had all the attributes you need to win a football game,” he said. “This is a contrasting performance.

“We got caught up in what was a celebration for the home team and we didn’t look ready. A young player who could maybe have been caught by the occasion was Matty Pennington and he was the only player who played with intent, with meaning and desire.

“It is a shame no one else on the pitch could match that focus.”

Sunderland will secure their top-flight status and condemn Newcastle and Norwich to the drop if they beat Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

Martinez demanded a reaction from his side, although it remains to be seen whether he will now still be in charge.

“There is a lot riding on the games for us after the performance we had today,” he said. “We need to react and we need to perform in the highest possible level. It is good that we have a game around the corner.

“I expect to have a performance on Wednesday.”

Yep fist time I'd seen that quote - he's knows and is throwing a few wild swings.

Pointless and further belittles himself.

Roberto Martinez's future at Everton is in the balance
8 MAY 2016 • 10:30PM
Roberto Martinez is edging closer to being sacked as Everton manager following the abysmal climax to the Premier League campaign.

The pressure has intensified on the Spanish coach in the aftermath of the latest abject away performance at champions Leicester at the weekend.

Everton fans have lost patience with their manager's methods
Having earlier seemed secure until at least the final home against Norwich City next Sunday, Martinez could now be gone sooner. The Everton board knows the manager will face a hostile environment if he is still in charge at the end of this week.

As Martinez seeks a reprieve from the concerned Goodison hierarchy, rival candidates are manoeuvring into position with Ajax’s Frank De Boer publicly declaring his interest in the post.

Another dire performance has threatened to wreck Everton’s hopes of finishing in the top-half of the Premier League.

Everton have had a poor season under Martinez
The Spaniard faced renewed calls for his dismissal from a mutinous travelling support and there appeared to be friction with midfielder Ross Barkley, who stormed down the tunnel after being substituted late in the game.

Martinez’s post-match press conference lasted only 104 seconds and he later insisted that Wednesday’s trip to Sunderland is now their biggest game of the season.

Sunderland could secure survival with a victory at the Stadium of Light but Martinez has demanded a response as he fights for his future.

Everton have only a top-ten finish to play for
“There is a lot riding on the game for us after the performance we had today, we need to react and we need to perform in the highest possible level,” he said.

“It is good that we have a game around the corner but the importance of our performance is as big as you could feel we had in any other day in the season. I expect to have a performance on Wednesday.

“We played last week and we had all the attributes you need to win a football game. Today is a contrasting performance, we got caught up into what was a celebration for the home team and we didn’t look ready.

“A young player who could maybe have been caught by the occasion was Matty Pennington and he was the only player who played with intent, with meaning and desire and it is a shame no one else on the pitch could match that focus.”

Martinez believes only Matty Pennington played with any real desire against Leicester
A ‘Martinez Out’ banner was unfurled in the away end towards the end of the game and Everton’s season has been one of dismal underachievement.

After losing the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United, Martinez was targeting a top-ten finish as a means of saving the campaign. That now looks unlikely and supporter has been ebbing away at boardroom level.

Farhad Moshiri, the new major shareholder, has pledged to invest millions this summer but it now seems certain Martinez will not be the man to take the club forward.

Frank de Boer is interested in a move to either Everton or Valencia
He also knows others are coveting the post and the board is assessing its options.

Ajax coach De Boer’s agent says his client would love to join Everton. He would be under consideration, alongside others of the calibre of Southampton's Ronald Koeman.

“He would love to join a club like Everton or Valencia,” said De Boer’s agent Guido Albers. “It’s all about the right philosophy and how they play football. That is what Frank is looking for.”
