I don't want to see him get torrents of abuse at the weekend.

But I would like to see his delusions get shattered on live TV as he is presented with damning statistics/infographics, along with a word-count of his favourite adjectives - in a post-match interview, or as he is lured under the pretense of punditry sometime in the future.

It would go someway to feeding the uncomfortable part of myself that can only be satisfied with a medieval sacrifice.

He shouldn't be out there getting interviewed. The board are a bloody disgrace because he simply isn't good enough for us but that's no shame, a lot of pressure comes with this job and it's proved too big for him. Isn't the first and won't be the last.

He should have been put out of his misery and the board have acted shambolically these past couple of months.

Sack him tonight and spare him the embarrassment of Sunday ffs if you have any compassion.

'Surely the end'

This result must surely be the end for Roberto Martinez as Everton manager.

This was the third successive Premier League away performance that has bordered on embarrassment after the losses at Liverpool and Leicester City.

Such is the strength of discontent about the Martinez regime that it might actually be humane to withdraw the Catalan from the firing line before a potentially toxic final game at home to Norwich City this weekend.

People can stop using the away form as an excuse now. It is just average.
