That would be obviously fine. Because the league doesn't matter anymore.

FFS, anyone who doesn't think us losing all our remaning league games and winning the fa cup would be the best thing to happen to this club in over 20 years doesn't understand football.

Can we get to 40 points first please

At present, we still have both silverware and European football to play for. I'm not arsed how those are delivered really. Especially now we don't have to shed a tear for each league position's prize money we miss out on any more.

We could finish 15th and win the cup and we have our best season in 21 years: a trophy and European qualification. Just like no one in world football's arsed we played some nice football, got a lot of PL points and got to a cup final in the years 2007/09, no one will be arsed about our poor home form if we win the FA cup. 5 times will become 6 and that'll be on the honours list forever.

We're doing well in the cups under him Martinez season, so we still have reason to be hopeful. The pressure's on him/us now, sure but this season's nowhere near dead.

How anyone can not want Martinez out is beyond me at this point, and I used to be a great supporter of his. Quite simply he´s not doing a good enough job to keep the job.

He can lose them all. He will keep his job. He will also be given money to spend, lots of it, in the summer. Accept this and get behind both the team AND the manager.

It's this kind of negativity that drains the life out of the players every time they step foot onto Goodison.
The negativity is there because of the position we are in. It will not go while our home form continues. The crowd will not get behind the manager anymore because the trust and respect is gone. Of course there will be negativity because we are rubbish at home. You will have to accept that. It almost certainly won't change while Roberto is at the helm. That is something the new board members will no doubt consider.

I tell you what is scary lukaku has kept everton up this season

Indeed. Another season with Martinez as manager under the current set up will result in the exact same poor performances that we have seen over the last two years, another season will be wasted. But if Lukaku leaves, then I dread to think where Martinez will take us.

Be like Wigan how uncanny !

Looked a defeated man in his interview, well done plotters looks like we may have what we want in the near future. Here's to hoping

This is essential as there's still so much left to play for in the cup.

Some people asking where do people dissappear to after a good result ie the quarter final. It's daft to come on here and passionately air your negative views on martinez post FA cup result. I have come on here once or twice since though. I actually tried get a discussion going about a possible replacement that night but looking back it was daft and inappropriate for the day in it.

The reason I want Martinez to stay until we see out the cup isn't because he is a great manager. It's because I just don't want turmoil and uncertainty as a distraction to what is our easiest chance to win the cup for the longest time. Our cup run has been lucky in terms of draws and the the teams left in it has made things even more fortunate, I'm sorry to take the gleam of the cup before we even get to the final but it's the truth. If we win it he obviously deserves next season by default and I'll be praying he can prove me wrong.

I'm in the Martinez out camp but today credit to Wenger by having those 2 defensive midfielders as this outnumbered Barkley and gave us little amounts of space which meant we lost out on second balls.
Yes we played poorly and were extremely sloppy but Arsenal were set up well and that didn't help.
