He got the wrong job. He should be a politician.

Twisting the words and finding excuses are his main strength. Of course most of his signings are good he just does not know how to get the best out of them.

Merson was spot on about him the other week.

I'm agog at that quote.

Thing is, while no one disputes Arsenal were better, my concern is that we we so poor too. No fight.
Thats what I said in the match thread. With 5 minutes to go, down 2-0, at HOME, the players were barely pushing forward. They were slowing the play down and WALKING around.

I get that its the players on the pitch. But he chooses the same ones week in and week out. Theres no 'you play poorly, you're out' from him. THAT is on him. THAT is poor management.

It's done.

I believe his BS, helped bring in Lukaku, Deulofeu etc... But i don't get how we can do so well away, yet be horrific at home? Surely they can't just be like 'Home today... lets forget Martinez'
I hear you mate; it befuddles me as well.
One thing I am clear on though (and have been for months) : R Martinez is a snake oil salesman.

Some don't see it that way though, they give players credit for winning, but not to Martinez, then when we get beat Martinez gets slated to death, and the players get off free.
Don't forget who brought in Lukaku, where he has turned into of the top strikers in the prem, and one of the hottest strikers in Europe, who is worth probably double what we paid.

But that is the whole point, he could have Neymar and Messi as well and still be in the top half of the bottom half
He cant manage players, he cant set up a team to win ugly or see the last ten minutes out
For me he is a talent scout, move him sideways into recruitment, or move him on

Hold on, you were giving me the whole period he's been here! I provided the breakdown.

As said, 45% = very acceptable for any PL manager in the job a few seasons. That's how good the first season was, btw, that it pulls up the next two seasons....but some can't even give credit for that.
Dave. Your unwavering support in the eye of absolution is really admirable. You, more than most on here one I do look forward to an analysis of the game, Roberto is making a mockery of the club presently and loads are lapping it and dividing blues over a day out in London.

As it stands ~60% of us want him out, I expect that to only grow. As you've rightfully said the FA Cup is his " game", and I'll be made up if he wins it, at the expense of laughable domestic league form it's like 'betting all on black', he did that with Wigan.

I find it odd how 'SEVENTY TWO POINTS!' is pretty much the only thing anyone has to back him with when literally every top flight season bar that has been in the bottom half. "He'll do better at Everton because they have much more finances". Thats true, we're 12th now instead of 15th with Wigan.

That season was the anomaly, not this tripe.

Manager signs young striker and helps develop him to the cusp of being world class.

Manager then sets team up to make striker focal point of attack.

Striker scores loads of goals.

Manager is then ridiculed for where team would be if striker wasn't in the team.

The mind boggles.

Even though we're still losing games?
Like I said its not like he uncovered a diamond in the rough. We knew we were getting a good goal scorer in Rom .
There has to be a point when the goodwill shown to Martinez runs out.

I've always said mate that Martinez got the rest of this season, and the first few months of next season, if he hasn't learnt by his mistakes, and nothing has changed, then I would think that he needs to move on.

Also, Martinez has helped turn a rough diamond into a top player.
