Stop making stuff up. We had a period of stability under Moyes because he outperformed every coach that came before him in a massive way and never gave any reason for us to sack him. Before Moyes we had Harvey for 3 years, Kendall for three years, Walker for 8 months, Royle for 2.5 years, Kendall for a year, Smith for 3.5 years. We changed managers about every 3 years. Time for a change. There is absolutely no reason to believe that results will improve next season based on what we have seen last season and this season or based on Martinez' track record as a manager. He should never have been given the job.
So what you're saying there is that before Moyes we had a series of managerial appointments that put us right in the toilet and almost relegated us...and that's supposed to be analogous to the Martinez situation where we're midtable and half a foot in a cup final?

'Making things up' my arse.

Royle is the only shout you have in that list, and he resigned after a feud with the chairman.

Apart from that, spot on.

*shakes head*

Talksport there on Everton.

General summary: "why are they so inconsistent? Good one week and all at sea the next. They play some great foitball at times. What's happening with the back four and GK though that's wasting Lukaku's goal tally? Martinez will be given the money in the summer to fix that."

I pass that on not because I have any regard for that divvy station, but in order to underline that no one is arsed about our in and out PL form outside the fanbase. There's just no heat in the situation. In the run up to the cup game versus Chelsea there was media speculation....probably to get interest in the tie up...in the mangerisl situation here. When that game was won they lost interest and there's no media mob anymore.

Long story short: there is a MASSIVE DISCONNECT between the preoccupations of fans and the industry on Martinez and his performance and prospects. Like it or not, that is the culture that informs momentous decision making. Yes there'll be the odd arl arse like Merson or Barton opening their grids, but there's no impetus for a change of manager at Everton. Not as far as I see in any case. Maybe Moshiri is lining someone up as we speak. You never can tell. But in all likelihood the attitude at Everton will be: "people seem to think he's ok and we play decent footy under him...and we're off to Wembley, so let's just crack on".

IMO.

If you're Moshiri and you're considering giving £100m to a manager to spend you'll want to be confident in his ability to use it well. In general, RM has been good in the transfer market but he should be performing better in the league than he has been.

If I was about to 'invest' money in the team I'd want to be confident I'll see an improvement in our results. Could anyone say, presently, that they're confident we will see improved results next season if RM is given a substantial amount to spend?

I imagine most people would be concerned at best. I'm pretty sure Moshiri and BK will be concerned over our form. They won't show it in public as it's counter productive but they'd be stupid not to be concerned, wether they decide to stick with RM or not.

With Moyes currently available they'd have a ready made replacement, who's also good in the transfer market and we know would tighten up our defence. BK is a big fan of his despite how some fans feel about him after the Utd fiasco.

That's not to say if they got rid of him they would go for Moyes but it's not beyond contention that it might happen.

lol

I'm not arsed about Arsenal fans wanting Wenger gone, doesn't make it any less relevant to the ones who pay their money to watch the club.

Your arguments get weaker and weaker by the week, Dave.

I'm sure having our worst EVER home season will be a big talking point, don't you?
I look at a whole season mate, not less than half of one.

Haha yesterday you complained about the "plotters" quoting pundits who were criticising Everton

Now you're posting about the one commentator who remotely doesn't blame Martinez

You have low standards if you think playing decent football is enough.

He's had 2 years to fix the defence and failed. He's turned a £40m CB into a £5m max defender. Ruined jags, Coleman and baines. and now you want to let the man who thought Titus Bramble should be playing for England spend millions on defenders. Wake up
No mate, I'm giving you the general temperature of the industry and where this forum fever fits into it. It's nothing. It doesn't register. They see a team doing ok one week, not very good the next. They comment on inconsistency and a team which should be doing better. They compliment the club on the football played. They DONT scream out that there';s a crisis or need for change at the top. They wonder what Martinez can do with extra money from Moshiri.

Again, I have to apologise for posting inconvenient truths...and they ^^^ most certainly ARE inconvenient truths.
