Look...if results dont get better and end of the season is full of dissapointments the team will break down like a house of cards. Mass exodus and it starts with Rom packing his kettles.
If Martinez loses the players he's done.

God help us all if he has them now and we are getting these performances!

Tell me about it.

It pains me to say it but if we keep seeing results like this fans must be vigilante and show the board what they want before staff and players end the season.
I think the home fans have made their thoughts rather clear all season, don't you?

"Other managers are consistency producing more than can be expected". Consistently? Two of the three teams managers you listed have been with their clubs one season. The other one has had one good season out of two. Using that measuring rod you'd no doubt have described Martinez's first season in charge as evidence that he was making Everton more than the sum of their parts and therefore fit for purpose in the PL....attributes you deny him now.

Just another example of how this critique isn't being thought through rigorously.

It's pretty disappointing, I have to say.

Logic and consistency. I don't think it's too much to ask for when debating the pros and cons of an Everton manager's tenure. In its place we have irrational responses and opportunism.

I don't agree with your argument there. By the time Moyes left for Man Utd we were an established top 6 PL club so the time when Martinez got 5th in his first season was an usual business and surely not doing more than the sum of their parts. At that point, he had kept up the expectation we all going to expect from this squad. Our aim was achieved, it is non-debatable.

Consistency. Let's say Martinez gets 12th this season plus the dreadful season last year that's what you call consistency of achieving mediocrity. 72 league games is a long time indeed. But it's ok for that, the league is bread and butter for me but you think 5th and 15th is the same so I think our respective stand is quite clear on this issue.

Moyes' first 3 wreaked of consistency....stank of it

Aren't we talking first full seasons in charge? It was a model of consistency wasn't it?

And...?

Are you trying to say Martinez is better than Moyes because he gets 5th with a Moyes squad (more of less) in his first full season while Moyes got 7th with a squad consisted of Gemmill and Alexandersson?

No mate...just pointing out how inconcistent it was. Let's not mention the fourth...

In his early yes 7th-17th-4th...I deem from 2007-2013 we got 5th, 6th most of the time (bar 8th for once), which is an indication of consistency as an established top tiar PL club.
