Come on Friend, its not fair to compare somebody who spent 13m over 11 years to somebody that has been able to spend 50m over 3 years.

it cannot yet be proven, it is possible

But thanks to Lescott, Fellaini, Baines, Jagielka, Johnson (sold at a profit), Coleman, Arteta, Cahill, Peinaar, Oviedo, Howard (3.5m for how many years good service) it can be proven that until Martinez matches him one day then Moyes is clearly superior at this point.

Deny that and you need certifying.

Moyes finished 17th in this third season.

We're lucky we didn't listen to fans moaning then wouldn't you say?

I'm glad you acknowledge that Moyes was under pressure on numerous occasions during his Everton tenure. However, the fact that he wasn't under that much pressure during that summer, far less than he was in say the 05/06 season or after we lost to the RS in 2012, gives you some indication as to where Everton were during that period.

We were in no position to just sack the manager and get a better replacement back then, whereas we just don't need to settle for the second class services of Roberto Martinez right now. We can attract and afford better, so why stick with the second rate option that is about to see us regress to consecutive bottom half finishes? We can do better, so why put up with worse?

I don't seem to remember there being much clamour for Moyes head at that time, unless I am mistaken.

However, he bounced back the season after with gusto. Roberto it seems is following a duff season with another duff season unless you think the cups are a good barometer of success. I personally don't as any side can have a good cup run.

He can still save the season with a cup win and an improvement in league form, just can't see it from what has been served up thus far.
