Not really...that first season is being credited (ridiculouly IMO) to Moyes.
Really? The positive aspects going forward that season are what has kept him in this job this long. People were talking about a settled defence that was well drilled by Moyes, that had Coleman joining attacks on Reberto's instruction with outstanding success, add in the loan of a competent Striker.

How so mate? That season was all over the place. Moyes could never better it.... But Roberto did.....

To be fair if we're measuring on points totals then Moyes did better that season a number of times. If we're talking about league position (which we should be) then neither Moyes nor Martinez have bettered 04/05.

I think the players get off way too easy for their individual mistakes/performances with the masses. Unless they are already a perceived scapegoat (Osman, Howard, Kone, ETC).
Probably, if we're talking about the defenders, they've all been pretty poor. Collectively, that becomes the responsibility of the staff.

At this stage, just what have we got to lose by backing the team and the manager?

Sure, if we go out in the semi final, maybe he will be kicked. Maybe they'll wait to the summer. We don't know, What we do know is we've got a game coming up, with a trophy at stake. He ain't gonna get sacked before it.

Both sides have presented their argument to varying degrees of success. Minds aren't going to be changed now. I applaud this site for taking the poll down and changing the thread. I think it was the right decision. Aren't we all just going in circles now, is it productive? As entertaining as it is, it's divisive. Time in my opinion to all stand together. Which I'm sure we all will do come the semi final anyway.

Personally I can't wait. Hope it's West Ham, we owe them. Even if it's United for all Martinez's faults we've got the beating of them. I'm a miserable fecker most of the time but it's time for a wee bit of optimism. Glass at 50% lads, time for a top up.

The cup would be great.

It doesn't excuse the league

I prefer the reality to the false optimism spewed by bobby week in week out

The glass is half empty for a reason

The club bought a pup. Bill can't admit it but Moshy will sort it out. He'll be gone before a ball is kicked in the Euros.
