It's desperate cry baby stuff from someone who knows they cant get their own way.

It's a strange world when you and others are motivated not because you want the best for Everton. but because you hate its manager.

I just dont get it. Then again, I think that a certain level of loyalty to an Everton manager is required., especially one who has recorded our best PL season and has us within reach of ending a 21 year trophy drought.
Dave that middle paragraph is so 2015. We all want Everton to do the best they can. Martinez can't provide that as the last 20 months have proven.

Please don't resort to cheap digs about my want for results not being as important as my want to be 'right' about Martinez.

I couldn't give a toss who gets us to win games.

Baines was excellent against Chelsea in the league and in the cup recently, hasn't been like his old self but has been injured. Hardly the cause of our defensive woes but because he came out and said a bad word about the tactics, he's getting the brunt of your stick.

Byram is absolutely toilet and wouldn't get in the team ahead of Coleman.
He must be 'toilet' if Coleman can keep him out of any team. Seamus is not at the races. Baines needs easing out of the squad.

Not good enough by a long chalk.

btw is it now only me, @davek, and @BlueToff who don't want him sacked on here?

To be honest, even though you don't want him sacked (and I do), I have no issues with your stance, I think it is perfectly reasonable.

From what you have said above, you are happy to back him next season if he wins us the FA Cup. But if he is given another season, you expect an upturn in our league form. You accept that the current premier league form cannot be allowed to continue indefinitely and at some point there will have to be a stark improvement. It's a position that doesn't massively rile others and is realistic.

What I don't accept, are those posters who refuse to put any time limit on the current state of affairs, who state that Martinez can see out his contract regardless, that its all good. That opinion does rile others and is unrealistic.

People comment on what they see. Martinez was quite rightly lauded after his first season with us, even though in the cup competitions we were poor. Last season was a real anti-climax, a good run in the Europa league was offset by a dismal league campaign, but many supporters were worried what they were seeing in the league campaign, but the majority saw our participation in Europe as an excuse. This year Martinez has no excuses. He has one of the best forwards in Europe at his disposal and yet we for the second successive season are languishing in the bottom half of the league. I really hope we win the FA cup in particular for our younger fan base who are probably too young to remember our last silverware. However this should not cloud the judgement of our league performances and for that reason alone, it is why I and many fans think Martinez needs replacing for next year.
Yeah ok. We;ll see how that view holds up for "many fans" if or when we reach the final. Those "many fans" fell neatly into place behind the manager for the most part after the Chelsea QF...and I expect the fickle to do exactly the same after the SF.

It is a conceit. Coleman and Baines have stunk. Sorry, I dont think any Everton player not pulling out games consistently should be called on it. And anyone who says either of those two have been consistently decent this season are having a laugh. They are consistently bang average to appalling.
And what about the manager?

Martinez is performing terribly for his second season on the run.

It is an absolute waste of time pointing anything out to you.

I dont have to resort to anything mate. I'm not the one throwing bricks at my manager, you are.

I do know you're deeply frustrated by the chairman-manager relationship, but you and others posting on a footy forum wont make it go away.

Lol.

You're throwing 'bricks' at me when you suggest my 'hate' for Martinez is greater than my want for Everton to perform to a reasonable standard.

And please stop with that forum line you use, this is just a fun place to use and debate all things Everton no matter our stance as individuals not one club official will take a bit of notice.

That's right, chief....YOUR manager.

Personally I'm not arsed about the manager/chairman relationship. I openly disapprove of both.

Difference is, I'm not as hypocritical or as ambiguous about the chairman, and don't use someone I've previously slated in the past to defend my point of view on a different matter, or use it to try and get a rise off someone :)

Sadly, we will all follow St Martinez then as he leads us towards the bottom third of the Premier League. If he gets us into the Championship I guess you'll stick by him as the best man to get us promotion.
