Disagree there...if you are the right man for the job. Steve Kerr who is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA had zero head coaching experience before being hired at the beginning of last season. He led them to the NBA title in his first season. He has them on pace to have the best record the NBA has ever seen this season.
Martinez has had 3 seasons and is nowhere close to breaking into the top 4 and then building on that, yet you want to persevere with him. Which is quite a contrast to the example of Kerr that you've provided.

If ever we were stupid enough to let him go, there would be no shortage of top flight suitors for Martinez. A proven trophy winner, registering a club like Everton's best ever PL season, capable of identifying, attracting and coaching top quality for nothing more than decent money in today's inflated market to add massively to squad value at clubs.

No amount of blind hatred can erase that.

  • A proven trophy winner and a proven relegation battle loser.
  • As discussed it was the joint 2nd best premier league season
I thought you were going to start using "premier league return"
  • You'd have to remove the attracting and coaching top quality part.
He took a risk on most players when they weren't proven to be top quality. Once they prove it they're off
Hasn't really attracted a proven top quality player

And as for coaching well 12th is all I can say

Indeed, most clubs regularly around the European places would love a manager to break transfer records to decline their club to back to back bottom half.

My statement was with regards to Neville and Valencia.
Yes but you made the point that with the right man in the job who is a very talented coach they can make an immediate impact by winning the NBA and breaking league records. I'm pointing out that using that argument Martinez is clearly not the right man for the job and is clearly not a top class coach yet you wish us to stick with him.
