Just going back to the percentages of managers and Martinez being 3rd since 1948 in win ratios. I feel it should be said that some of the managers, Kendal 2&3, Walker, Smith, Moyes, even Harvey to a degree were pretty hamstrung and working under terrible conditions with pretty dire squads.

Moyes changed all that and Martinez had at least a decent squad when he took over. The crazy thing is He HAS improved the squad, no doubt about it and yet we are sliding further down the League so it's not really good comparison in his favour in my eyes. Coupled with most of it came 2 seasons ago.

Exactly, He isn't getting the best out of his players as a team, individually he has improved our attackers, but done exactly the reverse with our defenders.

I'm an advocate of playing out from the back but not suicide football.

The worst thing is, it's really fixable but he's too stubborn and that is putting his own ego before the club. That's what has pushed me over the edge because there is a lot to like about some of the things he has us doing, but he is missing the word balance from his vocabulary.

What is all of this nonsense about "entitlement" and "fractured fan base" ?

Two thirds of those polled are unhappy with the team and manager, and feel it is time for a change. That is a clear majority, which seems to apply to match-going fans as well.

It has nothing to do with the need for instant gratification, especially for old-stagers like myself. I'm still a mad blue despite decades of under-achievement. I just don't think Roberto has it in him to turn things around.

If we win the FA cup (a huge if I realize), do you think he should get the sack in the summer? Full disclosure: I think we shouldn't and if we get knocked out in semis or finals I will accept the arguments that he should move on.

For people saying an internet forum vote doesn't represent, I beg to differ, every Evertonian I know wants him gone, I suppose it's not as easy to judge from overseas though, GOT is more than likely the only interaction with other Evertonians some are exposed too.

I think he should remain in the post so we keep fans like you onside. I mean there's far more money for the club coming in from telly clappers via TV money than match going fans paying £40 a match?

If you're intending not to offend other members other than the one quoted, it hasn't read that way to a lot of folk.

We can't be having a go at fans not going to the match when living abroad.

Also worth pointing out that I know a massive number of fans who simply can't afford to go every week any more, and these are fans who were there giving them non stop support during much worse times.

Nonsense. Your mate's views represent that. And as far as this poll goes I voted in because it's closest to what I currently feel. Would have been out last season. But neither opinions would have represented a demand he goes now or total support. If I was to guess based on the cross section of fans (match going and not) that I've spoke to there is frustration but nowhere near the strong feelings about the manager you are suggesting.

Will the mods make it clear it's not fair to have a pop at match going fans, cheese? If you did a search for this thread for 'toxic' your posts would repeatedly pop up with you having a go at the teams core fans who pay a frigging lot of their hard earned. It's insulting, hence why I'll pull you up on it unless you're trying to just do a daft wind up, and doing exactly the opposite of what you're stating you wish to do.

Tbf most seasons he's been a premier league manager he's been nowhere near 38 points at this stage of the season....
