That's a list of the games we have won that have convinced so many (or few as its now turned out) that Martinez is the right man for the job, the games that have made our league form 'acceptable'

The man cannot get the best out of this team on a regular basis, that's an undeniable fact.

45 points dropped from winning positions in 107 league games

21 wins from the last 67 league games

Not come from behind at home to win a game in 26 months

4 home wins in the past calendar year

These are the facts that prove he isn't capable

He doesn't have the full skill set required to manage a premier league team. He's had 1 good league campaign in 9 attempts and I mean that in relative terms to, Bruce and Jewell kept Wigan safe he'd relegated them within 4 years.

Imagine us without Lukaku and whilst you're at it, get used to it

For all those say he brought him here and he's flourished, why isn't he being loyal to the guy some have deemed to be the ONLY reason he is here

I know some will be desperate to mention that I haven't acknowledged the Man City victory, that's because we did an ultimate Martinez and bottled it, 1 hour away from Wembley with a 3-1 advantage against a team who, if you look at their results either side of that fixture have been questionable at best.

I've been using these sane stats for months and unfortunately for us all the number of games played is growing a hell of a lot quicker than the number of games won.

I remember when it was 18 in 55 and I was being called a 'knee-jerker' well now we're upto 21 in 67

MARTINEZ OUT

The sooner the better

Well said.

Lads, contribute to the topic at hand rather than bickering or coming out with (what you think are) smart comments.

No one wants to read it, it just clogs threads up.

Thank you.

Has anyone mentioned that if we draw or win at Old Trafford we beat our Premier League record for consecutive league away games unbeaten ?
It's stuff like that which makes Martinez so bloody frustrating.
Really?

If our league position wasn't as poor as it is, I'd laugh.....

But that's very much it Woolly - it'd be something to celebrate... if we hadn't also only won 5 away games all season, and none of them at the really top clubs.

Southampton the best of them I think. - West Brom, Newcastle, Villa, Stoke.

Very much fancy us to win at the weekend though. 'Cept I virtually always do. Sigh.

Stoke was ace, if he'd danced for us I'd defo have been happy to give him next season.
It's been poor in the league since then though.

@davek - March 2015.

We have a manager in charge who's had this sobering experience and should know what needs to be done next season in the transfer market to put this back on track again. If he doesn't and we continue in this form, of course he'd have to lose his job. But he's shown what can be achieved when you get the right blend of players. We have to trust he can do that again...and we certainly have to give him that opportunity to achieve it.

:coffee:

@davek is like Rasputin.

You literally have no idea.

He's rightly showing loyalty to the manager. Frankly I think he's right.

This is fine.

The issue I have this;

@davek, the reason for bringing this quote to your attention is that 12 months ago you conceded "there won't be any hiding place for him" if he did exactly what he has done throughout this season.

However consistently in this thread you have called everyone who brought Martinez under the very scrutiny you yourself anticipated if he performed as he has.

If it was acceptable 12 months ago to expect scrutiny and criticism based on performance criteria not met, what has changed to make it (and the consequences, ie the calling for a change of manager) unacceptable now?

The implication of your quote was clear, yet 12 months on your stance has changed and you berate those that hold the view you expressed.

I know you are a dedicated blue and usually very consistent in your stance. What's changed here?
