Roberto Martinez discussion

That would be interesting. He showed some great stuff in the B team before making a great start to the season last season. Saw him a few times for the Bs before I got too lazy to go and have seen probably all his games in the first team. Quick and skillfull and previously showed a good eye for goal with decent finishing.

The problem is currently him and Sandro look way off what it takes to be an effective player in a top league team....never mind at Barça. The main thing they seem to offer is very good movement to open up space for Neymar and that other bell.

But for what he has shown when on form I´d be happy with that and I´m sure Bobby would get him playing again. Definitely has the will to succeed, even when not playing very well he keeps looking for the ball. Keeps trying.

Probably jargisimo though....

He showed even better stuff with Juvenil A, actually. He barely played with the B team before being called up by Lucho.

Problem with both him & Sandro is that neither are actually wide players and that's where they've been asked to play since Suarez always plays. Which is why they look like they are a way off.

Between the two, Munir has the better upside and he'd benefit with more minutes - his rise has been meteoric within the cantera owing to how terrific a goalscorer he is, his poise/composure and movement. So I'd be for a loan or sale with buyback ala Deulo, Adama et al

Everton are the smallest team in the Premier League, with an average height in the Toffees' squad of 180.5cm .

We are weak when defending corners and freekicks cos we have quite a few midgets. Maybe Martinez is looking to sign more players with physical presence in the future.

WE ARE A BIG CLUB THOUGH LAD

Yeah same here. As i say, not saying it's not true, just difficult to understand why the contract would have had such a clause in it.

I think it was basically a two year contract with the option of a further year, a lot of contracts have them now for various reasons/clauses, Kone's was based on if he made 35 appearances then it automatically triggered a third - a bonus if you like, Injuries are behind him type clause.
Others are there to allow a club to add a year on if they choose too, maybe to extend a players value for example.

They vary from player to player, Michu for example has just signed for a fourth tier Spanish side, his contract will ave a clause were he can leave for a premier league/la liga side, the club may have a contract of their own saying they can extend it by a year if he plays 20 games to prove his injuries are just a one off.

I assume you're not referring to Deulofeu as he doesn't have a buyback as he's still playing for Barcelona because he's not being sold.

Yeah i understand the principle, it was more this specific instance that i found odd.

As i mentioned in my original post, 35 games seems remarkably low for him to get a fourth year in his contract (this is already his third year). As he wasn't injured when we signed him (and we hadn't signed Lukaku at that point) it would have seemed a reasonable assumption that he may have made 35 appearances in his first season. Guaranteeing someone a fourth year to their contract because of the amount of appearances they made in their first season would seem strange to me.

It's ok mate, just trying to keep you out of trouble. Not sure what it's like in Hong Kong but in this country midgets have fought for equal rights for a number of years. It use to be that wealthy people would take them on holiday with them, usually as hand luggage, and they would be expected to wait on their owners.

Just maybe give it a little thought next time

The law of unexpected consequences.

Since it became unacceptable for members of the vertically challenged community to be exploited by circus owners firing them from cannon of strong men seeing how far they can toss them at the county fair, our smaller people have found their "talents" being utilised in a surprising way.

With employment opportunities diminishing, the Christmas panto season excluded as they are still in great demand for productions of Snow White and the Seven Vertically Challenged Woodsmen, our little brethren have been joining criminal gangs in droves.

No criminal gang will go on a caper these days without a small person capable of getting through small windows and vents in order to open, from the inside, the door of the abode being robbed.

What do you think about Munir coming here, likely a loan first or would Barca do another Deulofeu type deal -- he must be valued quite highly? Would be able to play on the left of Lukaku opposite Deulofeu or better as backup to Lukaku?

Also, whats happened to Ter Stegen, he would be perfect for us but has never managed to break into their side...
