It's not just the conceding from set plays that is ridiculous. It's also the fact that due to ignoring them defensively, we offer nowhere near enough threat from them at the other end
Ouch.Well the first 1 is from Cahills.
But it highlights what a decent group of lads we have at the club.
They dont like the tactics so they go and have a word with the fella.
Contrast it to the rats at Chelsea and United and other clubs who just throw the towel in and wait for the manager to get sacked.
...as I remember though mate, it wasn't Christmas which was the nadir, it was the end of February that it really hit the fan: one point from Leicester at home, Arsenal and Stoke away. Only after that, with the Newcastle game, did the mood lift. If they had a word it had a very delayed reaction. I thought we played our way out of it with a lot of counter attacking footy in those next games which sort of laid down the basis for the type of form and style we see this season.Again, it was more of a helping hand. Remember when all that stuff was kicking off? Maybe that gave him the stones to deal with it?
Let's not be soft about this. There will be some of them he'll want though and some who won't be part of his plans. For example he wanted Stones before Moyes, it was only Bobby's interest that made Moyes move.
He obviously likes Baines as he refused 17 mill for him.
He's made Barkley the player he is by bringing him back from obscurity on poor loans and building his team around him.
There'll be plenty he doesn't like though, there will also be some he's signed that haven't worked out for one reason or another or he signed as short term fixes which is the case for all managers.
You don't build your own squad at aub like Everton in 2 years, it takes a lot longer than that.
we are still practicing that, we can only manage it for half a game at the moment or the last few minutes if they really try.But it highlights what a decent group of lads we have at the club.

For me it just highlights why we did so well in El Cocos first season, it was still fresh.
Rom, Geri and Ross dont need to be taught how to attack, hell Rom even said he trained himself over the Summer to be the beast we see now.
How about we get Moyes in as a defensive coach?

Neither of us have any expertise in organising a group of professional PL defenders how to defend, so maybe we should leave it to the manager...and the directors of the club, who also know more than the manager...apparently.What, basic defending? It's not even with the ball Davek. Your persistent polarisation of the two managers really does go too far. Do you think we should be improving our defence? Without doing these sort of drills how is that achieved?
I heard from a director it was all Steve Round's work...
