Roberto Martinez discussion

He won't be able to mate. 5 losses and 8 draws from 19 games! Wow! He even goes to all the games!!!!!!! (except, er, when he doesn't).

We've even just seen him suggest that Barkley plays wide left, cos, you know, it's where he is weakest but that's ok
Just be careful when posting stats that don't read to pretty with regards Martinez, he'll totally ignore them, but criticise everything else.

Hi mate, been busy for the past 1/2 hour....has what I put in Bold in the post above been confirmed tonight? Has someone admitted that they want us to get beat, in an attempt to prove that They were right about Martinez?

If so that's poor, up until 30 minutes ago I thought that was a pathetic attempt to wind up people who have a different opinion to yourself? But you have spoke with such clarity on that issue.

Could you shed any light on it please? Thanks in advance.

Thanks.;) Nice to be appreciated.

9 goals conceded away from home would seem to suggest that we can defend. One of the best in the league. But conceded 19 at home. Not one of the best. Seems like we are doing the good defending away from home and the bad at home.

I like the majority on here do not want to celebrate an Everton defeat or put the boot into ROBERTO, However I can see were he is failing and expressing my point of view which is shared not just on here but also in parts of the media. If you like him can't see it that is something you need to address. But don't criticize people for stating the obvious

You and the majority may not wish a defeat on the team to prove a point....but as you allude to in your post, there is a minority, a vociferous minority, who most assuredly have reached the stage where their egos cannot take owt which undermines their anti Martinez stance.

And that is a statement of the obvious.

But mate, he grew up watching Harry Catterick so he knows just by opinions, no need for stats

He's like the Evertonian equivalent of Peter Pan, with all defeats in Neverland and Martinez is doeful Wendy

That is what I don't get. Even when I no long wanted Moyes I still went and got behind the team. And if we lost it would hurt. But never in my wildest moments would I want us to get beat so I could have a go at him. I wanted us to win at all costs.

Maybe something has just passed me by in life and I've not noticed it.

There again I was always a 4-3-3 man. Spoilt by Catterick.

Who has actually said they want Everton to get beat? I refuse to believe any fan would ever say that.

*sits back and wonders if I'm sharing the same planet as @hullefc

What the F (said doing an Alan Partridge impression) has that got to do with what I said?

When I post stats you hammer the opinion surrounding it when I ask a question you hammer me with stats.

WOW

you're not supposed to be pissed until this time tomorrow.

Ian the only way Martinez will leave us in the next 1-3 years is if he does badly, you don't like him and want him replaced, you also think the sooner the better and you also believe if it doesn't happen the squad will be broken up in the summer.

So what would be your favoured out come in the next 7 weeks?

A winning streak that puts Martinez safe till next year? A continuation of the current form? Or a losing streak and Martinez sacked and replaced?

when jags is back, i wouldn't mind if he went 5 at the back to be honest, i can't choose who i'd rather him bench out of stones and mori, being one reason.

how you structure the rest is a bit of a mystery, Barry won't be dropped and rightly so because of his performances, but he wouldn't really be needed with all the defensive protection. Ideally you'd have barkley and mccarthy/cleverley ahead as two box to box midfielders, they mirallas and deula on opposite wings, behind lukaku. Would that be too attacking? Can always mix it up and have lennon instead of mirallas, as he'll track back more, or cleverley there instead.

We have a lot of options anyway, if he shows this as an intent to try and shore up our defence, at least it'll be a step in the right direction.
Our formation already has 7 defenders, do you really want to add an 8th?

Too late mate, the 'wife's away' (this is a Victorian euphemism for opium use I think)

He's flown all the way til morning

To be honest Douglas, I'd just like this 18 month extended run of horrendous form to end. If he manages that, stick around all he likes. If he can't turn it round (and that's the evidence) it might just be a good time to get rid.

I think someone who isn't happy with Evertons results has to bite the bullet here and just say it, then whenever someone throws that cringey line out.

'Yeah but you want us to lose to fit your agenda'

The rest can say that wasn't me mate, that was @?????????

Rock, paper, scissors anyone?
