Roberto Martinez discussion

How many times did we see this last season, when he momentarily fixed things only to revert back to type for the start of the following game. Credit to him for doing the blindingly obvious second half, but I'm not going to be fooled again. We could be as good as Spurs with a decent manager.

The most promising thing about today is the early subs, it's atleast a sign that he's starting to improve, if he continues to improve and show promise the results will look after themselves.

Kone and Howard need to be rested though.

If we drop Cleverly we will be sound

Barry Besic and Barkley as the three

I think he is not fully fit. Apart from that glorious ball to Lennon he was shut out by spurs' pressing. If he starts it has to be further up or on the left as he is constantly found out of position

He made early subs because it was the first game in a while that we were truly dominated by the opposition. Every other game where we've thrown it away, it didn't look like we needed a change until too late.

He made them on the 59th minute. wouldn't classify that as being early. Half time subs? Sure.

Cleverley shouldn't be playing with Barry, those two positions should be between Besic, Barry and McCarthy. Cleverley wants to be looking forward but then he's challenging Barkley to play behind striker or shunted to the left, but you lose part of his game there.
