Damn autocorrect

Wrong, we conceded an average of 43.7 with Moyes and 45.5 in two seasons under Martinez.
Edit. I noticed you only picked Moyes last 6 seasons??

I included this half season in Martinez's stats. If I didn't do that then he would average 54.5 goals per season scored and 45.5 let in so far. But given this has happened it has to be included.

If I include Moyes full record then it is 50 scored on average and 43.7 let in.

However given the argument that all Moyes did was steady the ship I wanted to illustrate that he represented a complete shift in the performance of our club. We had a negative goal difference for his first 4 years in charge. However those first 4 seasons included a 4th, 7th, 11th and 17th placed finish.

I just cannot agree with that.

11 seasons before him we averaged 45.6 points a season (points average x 38 games)
11 seasons with him we averaged 57.2 points
And over his last 6 seasons we averaged 60 points

So far under Roberto with a vastly containing Lukaku rather than Jelavic or Straq we are averaging 58 points. (48.6 over the last 18 months)

I don't think you understand what I am getting at. I agree Moyes stabilised as I said. Once the stabilisation was there he never once showed ambition to kick on. I know resources had a lot to do with it but I feel he was happy with where he was. A maintenance job!!! as I said. Several occasions we all thought 1 or 2 class players in would kick us on....now money might have been a slight problem but sometimes you would need to sell to buy but it never entered his head and sometimes he went with what he had content that they were capable of being top of the 2nd tier league. Now we have a manager who though not successful as of yet is looking beyond maintenance and trying to compete. It hasn't come off after 2 and half seasons but he is trying. He is eager to challenge which to me is the correct mindset. Not there as of yet but I don't think RM would be content with a 5th to 8th every season. I would rather fail trying and finish 10th or so than be steady with no hope of challenging. Fortune favours the brave. Still a work in progress (just 2.5 seasons) and we/I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Just my opinion but I am much happier attempting to play as we are than I was before him.

Aarrggghh the old cherry picking, I've noticed a fair bit of cherry picking now with these stats, it's getting more and more like rawk ever day.

Someone said Moyes had a deficit of £18 million on transfers the other day.

If you don't know already, smiley, there is nowt I can say will change your perception of your Moyesiah.

I've read some of what Moyes's quoted as saying. If true, it's badly worded at the very least.

But does the advancing decline in the improvements Moyes brought ( work rate, concentration, league position, Europe, defence ), under a guy we know and admits he can't defend NOT worry you at all?

I'm not saying Martinez OUT. But It's also not disloyal to Everton to ask questions, and I'd like to see a bit more detail from those that think this is just a 'blip'.

" jags back" - is a bit too simple for me, and points to the problem of Kompany at city anyway
" bad luck" I don't buy
" needs time", sure... To make what changes then?

His stubbornness has cost us a lot of points this season... How many more bad Kone performances will it take for him to drop Kone?
