Roberto Martinez discussion

Since the start of last season we have won 18 of our last 60 league games, how can you continue to defend this?

That's atrocious, it's not a blip or temporary, Everton are a bottom half club now and have been for a year and a half.

sorry Dave but it is.

you post some absolute crackpot stuff and then people who arent so keen on the manager react in kind with more over the top stuff and it descends into a dull and ridiculous conversation.

im definitely behind our boss but dont agree with the constant spin in almost every post you write

soz
Well dont agree with it. Fine.

Martinez has just described what the referee did was 'unacceptable'

I hope he takes on the FA over this. Someone needs to.

I just find it hard to blame the guy in the face of what is at BEST, disgraceful reffing, and at worst, corrupt reffing. Sure, Howard isn't good enough and didn't help today, but he's not the reason we lost this one.

Of course mate I'm not blaming just Howard. Let's be hones though, we've been here before so we know we need to defend until the ref blows his whistle, get the shape, show some resilience and we didn't.

The refs a tit but I'm not surprised that's the thing. I would have been more surprised had we held onto the win even though they were there for the taking. The back line just let Costa bully them for 15 minutes and bottled it. It was a only when Baines went in on him and he tried to do Baines but injured himself that's when we got a stranglehold back in the game.

1 ball over the top showed how absolutely crap we are in defence and goalkeeping. That gave them all the encouragement they needed and unfortunately it happens time and time again, going on for about 18 months now so it's nothing new. We are crap at the back and the manager has to sort both ends of the pitch.

I'm struggling to comprehend that on 2 separate occasions this season, we have let a 2 goal lead slip, to then snatch a seemingly late winner, only for us to then concede a 98th minute equaliser. We've also one again scored 3 goals and not come away with the 3 points.

The mentality of the players has to change as current game management is atrocious, not helped by the fact that we have a quite terrible defence.

If Bobby could sort the defence out just a little bit this could be a proper frightening team. But until then we're going to keep having days like this.

It was a penalty.

What's the excuse against Bournemouth?

i would say players not closing down in the last seconds of the game, or just generally switching off for the second half of the game.

no idea if thats the managers fault. im pretty sure he doesnt send them out to perform like that.

im also sure he hasnt instructed our captain to continue a career of making errors with relatively bogstandard high balls or instructed Deulofeu to lose possession when he should run the clock down.

im sure theres stuff he is not doing right, but its not all on him.

tbf we could easily have lost to city last game (stones pen in injury time), we could easily have drawn with newcastle as well.

we have some breaks that could have gone against us. if these things even out then we are where we are on merit - an average/poor side.

Did you even read my post, you biff? I even numbered my points for you, to make it nice and easy to read.

I do not blame Martinez for that. It's the bent ref. I blame Martinez for our general frailty and us going from 2-0 to 2-2.
Sorry mate.

3 years running Chelsea have scored with the last kick at Stamford Bridge. The last 2 times being for 0-1 wins robbing us due to us being the better team.

Today confirmed that match fixing is happening. We should not let this go and demand an investigation.

Dont worry mate, after they have their fume in which they try and set the forum alight (and no one buys into their nonsense) they retreat back to their cave.

Robbed of all three points at Chelsea in a pulsating match.

When the dust settles that's what will be remembered.
Honestly Dave and you know I'm a Bobby fan: I am going to remember it with Stoke and Bournemouth as yet another game where fought back heroically to have a lead in the last minutes of a game and don't see it out. No Everton fan is going to cherish that game.

I wonder at what point would people have not blamed our players? We had seen the game out for as long as we were supposed to, only for a magical extra minute to be tagged on and Chelsea to score the only offside goal that could be seen from space. What if Jones added on 5 minutes? Still the players' faults?
