Roberto Martinez discussion

Wont happen, and you know it.

They've had an unbelievable season with Vardy doing a Suarez out of his skin season. It wont last. You know it.

Dave if you think that at this point of the season with 16 games left that United will make up a 12 point gap, west ham a 11 point gap, stoke 14 points, palace 15 points, liverpool 15 points, Saints 16 points us 17 points or Chelsea 21 points then your living in cloud cuckoo land.

who is it exactly that is going to catch and overtake Leicester out of that lot with 16 games left?

This thread needs locking and putting away for a long time.

Could go on for a while about Martinez but for me you can't knee-jerk after every game that we don't win. We never won today because of the linesmen/ref, simple. You cannot blame Martinez for the error in the first goal, you can't blame him for the deflection and you can't blame him for not seeing out the game because we technically did.

We're a hard team to beat. Lessons are being learnt throughout this season about how to either finish games off or turn a draw into a win. But Roberto Martinez is definitely the right man for Everton.

Play to the whistle I always thought. We defend like schoolboys week after week.

People said it wouldn't last in October, still there now. Might only need another 4 or 5 wins to get top 4 and that isn't beyond them.

We did. After we took the lead we did everything we needed to to win

He buys an 18 year old right back for the future in Holgate and now he wants another right back for the future with this leeds kid, why don't you buy some proper players to improve the team you bad lightweight and excuse making tosspot

Holgate is a centre back.
Foulds was signed as galloway moved into the 1st team.
Tarashaj is competition for barkley
byram competition for Coleman

Need to rebuild the squad and perhaps a Goalkeeper and left winger he wantss arent available?

On paper i think everyone would have taken draws against spurs, city, chelsea ans a cup win against city...time to fume is after the next 2 games.

Too many and draws and lost leads this season. You must rue those. Will we keep this team together for another season? If we do, will we learn our lessons and kick on to push for CL? I want to believe we are on the verge of greatness but sometimes feel we will be perennial "could have been."
We'll see on that score. I think we'll keep nearly all and add as good in the summer. But remember this: they are here because of this manager.

It's been such a frustrating/disappointing season. Everything rests on the cup game with City.

Chelsea were there for the taking today. Luck played a part but we showed our vulnerability at 2-0. The team still lacks so much in the mentality department

No idea if they will get CL football but if they win this they are 11 points ahead of 5th and that is a huge gap at any time of the season.

Yep.

They will literally have to lose 90% of their games remaining to not get European football this year.

It will also need a side from 5th to 11th to win 90% of there's to challenge them.

Thought you said we were getting 60 points Dave? Face facts we'll do well to get 50.
...which is why I said it'll be a good season if we get both a great cup run and a 60 point season. Some others thought I was being waaaay too conservative with that...turns out they were miles off and I was bang on the money.

Nothing to do with them scoring an illegal goal then? You're talking a lot, but not saying anything, to quote a great song.

Haaaaa.....y'think, kinda of insulting that by implication really? What t'do eh? Should I do as you & REPORT my 'offence' at such a comment and then, as you, flounce off in m'nightie too...?

Nah.

It's funny, you & your ilk, you simply will NOT see fault in the man will you, it's a blind-spot almost, papered over by talk of building & the future an' all that kinda thing. But do tell...how big will the future be when the assets we have now have offed elsewhere because mid-table mediocrity isn't really 'doing it' for them?

What are the prem stats again? Would you like me to tell you?

Oh, and here's a thing too....did their goal count? Thought so. So not 'illegal' eh? It's a goal.

In fact it's their third.

And we were winning 2-0, yes?
