Roberto Martinez discussion

Yes, very poor form, the failure to win football matches reflects very badly on points gained.

1 point for a draw and 3 for a win, a draw is only ever good in isolation, 6 wins in 22 games is unacceptable.
Poor form: a step away from Wembley, no losses in the last 5 games, 2 losses in the last 16.

Ha Ha Ha.

Crack on lad.

...and yet we're nowhere near that or shall be and we haven't got draws every game. Funny that because it makes your example nonsense.

2 losses in 16 games. Sorry to repeat it, but how would you describe it?
How many wins though Dave. I have said in another thread I thought we played well today, but I also knew at 2 0 we were not close to being safe and that is criminal. We need to win games, simple.

We've taken 20 points from 16 league games. I find it weird that you are happy with this. But I guess the fact we are getting 31 from the next 16 makes it better.
I'm not happy; Im relaxed.

We're building a hell of a team, are midtable and on the brink we hope of a cup final.

Think about it.

As too many draws, and not enough wins, to justify the team we have. Yes, we are building a team, but we're unable to close out a game for our lives, especially if we take the lead.

6 wins in 22 games, Dave. Sorry to repeat it, but how does it sound? Is this CL worthy, or EL-spot worthy or something to you? Does it not scream mid-table mediocrity?

Again, your argument would be amazing and would hold any kind of value, should it be 2 losses in 16 games where we've got, say for example, 3 draws and 11 wins... but it's not like that, is it? The league is our bread and butter and, given the team we have, we're under-performing massively. If we don't win against Swansea - our last league win will be on the 26th of December, which given when the game is - it will be nearly a month with no actual wins and points more or less lost along the way.

I'd really like to agree with you, and enjoy what Roberto is building, but to say you're satisfied with 11 draws, 6 wins and 5 losses from 22 games so far is really surprising. To Martinez' credit - we have the league's top scorer on our team... yet we can't seem to win and close out games often, still?

Funny you didn't mention that all important first goal. Deflected goal - not closing down quick enough, far too easy.

Chelsea - undefeated under their new manager - score a goal at home.

Roberto must go - he's not managing the game!

But perhaps we should postpone a decision until the semifinal has been decided.

I said the players would fit in any side in the world, Geri isnt world class, Mirallas is 20 times the player.

Notice how Martinez has tried to replace Mirallas with sub-standard players like Aaron lennon and Aiden freaking McGeady.

Its no good saying we can do better than Mirallas, when we simply cant.

Stop twisting everything around a cup that we havent won and are so far away from winning its unreal.

Today was a league game, we are discussing our league form.

Our league form is BAD.

Our league position is inexcusable.

But you keep talking up a mythical cup that we may or may not win.

Like we did in Roberto's first season...and then failed to get a CL spot?

Leicester FFS. They're a flash in the pan, not our blueprint. Jesus wept...a hoofball team like that...and you know your footy...apparently.

But Roberto has failed to reach that height again...with apparently a better squad. Equally with 1 side out of the equation -United.

This season Chelsea are out and United are on the ropes. So now there's 2 spots open. Yet, we're still nowhere near claiming those spots.

As for Leicester- this isn't a competition about style, its about winning games. They win games. They are hard to beat.

And as for "future" and blueprints, and potential of the squad...there'll be no future if we don't take care of the present.

We're not winning enough mate. No one needs to tell me about that. But here's something we HAVE to agree on: we're tough to beat, we're playing great footy on the attack, we've seen we can defend well in the previous two games, we are developing a great squad under this manager.

Agreed?

What does that even mean? Is it that they would be deserving of a contract? I honestly can't even see any scenario where that is a credible claim however you define it. How you get the idea that Mirallas is 20x the player of Deulofeu is beyond me. I genuinely can't tell if you're being serious at times.
