But Roberto has failed to reach that height again...with apparently a better squad. Equally with only 2 side out of the equation -United.

This season Chelsea are out and United are on the ropes. So now there's 2 spots open. Yet, we're still nowhere near claiming those spots.

As for Leicester- this isn't a competition about style, its about winning games. They win games. They are hard to beat.

And as for "future" and blueprints, and potential of the squad...there'll be no future if we don't take care of the present.

That's very short sighted.

Let me ask you point blank: do you want this manager to be given the chance to carry on developing this squad or not?

As too many draws, and not enough wins, to justify the team we have. Yes, we are building a team, but we're unable to close out a game for our lives, especially if we take the lead.

6 wins in 22 games, Dave. Sorry to repeat it, but how does it sound? Is this CL worthy, or EL-spot worthy or something to you? Does it not scream mid-table mediocrity?

Again, your argument would be amazing and would hold any kind of value, should it be 2 losses in 16 games where we've got, say for example, 3 draws and 11 wins... but it's not like that, is it? The league is our bread and butter and, given the team we have, we're under-performing massively. If we don't win against Swansea - our last league win will be on the 26th of December, which given when the game is - it will be nearly a month with no actual wins and points more or less lost along the way.

I'd really like to agree with you, and enjoy what Roberto is building, but to say you're satisfied with 11 draws, 6 wins and 5 losses from 22 games so far is really surprising. To Martinez' credit - we have the league's top scorer on our team... yet we can't seem to win and close out games often, still?

I still believe. Were vastly superior to our opponents for large parts of all games; his stubborn streak with Howard is annoying though

What does that even mean? Is it that they would be deserving of a contract? I honestly can't even see any scenario where that is a credible claim however you define it. How you get the idea that Mirallas is 20x the player of Deulofeu is beyond me. I genuinely can't tell if you're being serious at times.

Geri might have the more potential, but potential doesnt win football games.

We all need to be patient with this. If the team is kept together and the defensive brain farting gets fixed we could be right up there by this time next year.

It's acceptable to me. 11th or 5th = hopeless.

The cups are all that matters while we develop this squad.

I'll say it again....2 losses in 16 games.

If you think that's poor then I admire your levels of exactitude but dont really think you're being realistic.

I think most of us are frustrated today, some are a little happy I guess
One individual error gives them a goal then a real impetus and they were rewarded with then a deflected goal.
We then make positive subs and in effect get the winner, they then threw everything at us as they had nothing to lose. Now they are rewarded with a off side goal (the time issue I am not making too much of it).
I know another draw and dissapointing as yes we did in some respects concede a 2 goal lead, but you have to look at the game overall and you have to say the gods conspired against us. I am not using this as an excuse and defending the manager, I am gutted by the way the game went and I am dissapointed that once again we drop 2 points.
Make no mistake my annoyance/dissapointment is not with the manager and how we are progressing or our position in the league. It is simply as an Evertonian I am saddened that a result we deserved we are left with a point

I would of took a point before the game, but sitting here it feels like a defeat

Errr I really don't see it that way and think this good game of his today maybe clouding judgement in that respect. I think it's debatable but not my main point. Saying there are 5 world class players in the squad is delusion of the highest order.
