Roberto Martinez discussion

The big concern is stick Lukaku or any top scorer in West ham, Palace or stokes team and they would easily push for top 4. Whereas we have one and are sat in 11th (could be 12th tomorrow).

That's a massive red flag for me, especially when all those sides will be £50 million richer next summer from the TV deal and can go in for a goalscorer.

What I will say is that the swansea game is massive on Sunday. At home against them whilst the teams around us:

Crystal Palace vs Spurs
Man utd vs Southampton
Leicester vs Stoke
Norwich vs Liverpool
Man City vs West Ham
Arsenal vs Chelsea

Assuming Spurs, Leicester and Utd are too far ahead, we can hope all 3 of those take points off Palace, Stoke and Southampton, city hopefully should smash West ham at home and Norwich away from home won't be a walk in the park for the kopites and arsenal could hopefully peg chelsea back behind us further.

3 points is a must, rotate the team by all means ahead of the 2nd leg 3 days later but nothing but 3 points should be acceptable.

Europa league seems to screw teams up especially if they enter through fair play route. Fulham wish they hadnt bothered.

Europa League isn't presenting Spurs with too many problems.

It didn't bother us too much the year we went out against Fiorentina and finished 5th in the league. It's all about how you manage the squad.

If we dont get the win and top half next weekend then that will be a body blow. As you show there, the fixtures look nicely lined up for that to happen if we get three points against Swansea. 8th probably.

Agree mate that Utd win today has them 8 points above us in 5th which for me almost rules out a top 5 finish. 6th spot is West ham in 6 points above us although they always seem to go on a bad run of form, think we could get 6th and Europe if we sort ourselves out/ Howard gets injured.

So now we are closer to the relegation zone than the top 4 and it's nearly February, hahaha but the manager is brilliant, only Evertonians can think that, unbelievable

Cheer up, Dexter. Things aren't so bad.

We are, in fact, the same distance from both.

But we're heading towards the top!

I agree. They're much closer together these days. FA Cup is much less important than it used to be and League cup has gone up in status

They are still in my view incomparable. Just because Sky have pretty much destroyed the domestic game doesn't mean the FA cup has changed. The competition hasn't, it's still the same wonderful magical cup it always was, what has changed is premier league clubs slobbering like pigs in a trough for sky cash. I'm done with football if the FA cup ever goes. Everything good about the English game in that trophy.

If that PRENTICE interview with RM in the ECHO is in context & verbatim then he's ever so slightly 'orf off his tits.

“No. We won the game against Chelsea, it’s as simple as that".

No mate, we didn't.

Please don't tell me he has said that because if true that is worse than anything any liverpool manager or fan could ever lower themselves to say, i don't actually believe he has said that.
