Roberto Martinez discussion

Oh my god, speechless, whether or not people think it was a good performance and if you like him but just imagine what you's would all be calling the liverpool manager if he'd have said that, i mean come on guys, this is the worst thing i've ever heard an Everton manager say.

You are very dramatic. Its Martinez being narked at the misjustice. If he doesn't get angry he gets abuse and now when he does...yes he gets abuse. Man you need to stop being a drama queen.

Looking at that again and we handed Chelsea their first two goals on a plate but we'll keep on berating the referee from now until the end of time and keep our heads firmly in the sand. We'll blame the reff, we'll blame the players, we'll blame anyone but Mister Martinez.;)

It's one thing to be angry and another to be worse than any kopite who ever existed, that comment has made him and us look very very bad.

Yes mate we handed them all their goals so we actually won 3-0

I don't think he is saying that mate. He is saying that our game management and defense doesn't need questioning. Which is debatable. But if it wasn't for a player error, deflection, and offside+overtime goal we wouldn't have conceded. All three of those weren't down to tactics or managing the game correctly.

I still think we panicked a bit, but I can see where he is coming from. We can consider that game a win. If we miss out on something by 2 points come the end of the season then we can get angry. But for now just think that we beat Chelsea 3-2. Time will tell if it had an impact.

I just think there have been occasions where naive game management has been an issue. Bournemouth being the prime example.

Going to Chelsea and scoring more legitimate goals than the opposition should be the primary aim with the hope that the officials can...well...officiate sufficiently.

If we want to discuss game management then the subject of such debate should be the officials imo. I just can't see how this game is one to use as a stick to beat the manager with.

I get that people are annoyed. I am too. But I thought we were terrific on Saturday, I really do.

Quite, quite easily...because AGAIN a lead is surrendered, I'm not arsed who we're playing, there's people on this very thread suggesting we 'can live with any team'. If that applies then we should be able to live, bed, do the dishes AND argue about the bills with CHELSEA then, especially at two goals up. It's not hard to fathom as to why it annoys, it's because it happens SO often and not a single thing seems to be learnt from it.

And that interview....dunno where to start really.

And that REALLY sounds sarcastic, genuinely don't mean it so, soz...

You don't think there's been a big improvement in our defending in recent weeks, including the Chelsea game??

If you're watching the game then you surely must notice there's an improvement which means they are definitely learning.

The scoreline was similar but defensively we were miles away form the debacles of Stoke, Palace and Bournemouth.

Whilst they have been overall poor, there is no doubt that Chelsea have some fantastic players.

Their goals, albeit the first error-ridden, agreed, were the result of a huge deflection and Terry past the line of the last defender.

We nor any side are going to go to Stamford Bridge and stop them getting shots off. They had Oscar, Willian, Costa, Remy, Fabregas all on the pitch at differing times. All we can do is make sure that the shots they are taken are rushed due to being pressured.

We do that for the second, it comes off our heel and goes into the opposite direction to where Howard was going. Goal.

We did manage the game well, I'd argue. Especially, what's more, when appreciating that at 2-2 we continued to play and open them up (KM had his chance before we got "the winner").

And don't worry mate, genuinely didn't notice any sarcastic tone.

We've just shipped 3 goals against CHELSEA....numerous opportunities to clear the ball for one of them, so no...

There has been a slight improvement perhaps, yes, but it still stinks....and it shouldn't because of the quality of player.
