The way we started the game on the back foot today was Embarrasing. Against a team who have barely won a game for months, we don't get a kick of the ball for about 3 minutes.

Exactly.

Their instructions were to press high. Every time the back 4 had the ball...3 opposition players were pushed right up against them. The full backs pushed so far up there was no out ball....unless you hoofted it.

We don't play that way, so what you had were 2 centre backs and 1 central midfielder dropping from deep, against 3 Swansea players - 3 v 3.

We misplace a pass or make a mistake, Swansea pinched the ball and were on the attack. This was all in our own half.

Both goals came from this.

I won't be surprised if other sides just do the same in the next few weeks as Martinez wont change it.

He didn't we everyone in the crowd and on TV could.

Besic has been infectious, so losing him early today is a massive worry in the weeks ahead. As others have said, we have no leaders on the pitch, but him and Mori at least look a step in the right direction.

Im struggling to see how we will get past city on Wednesday, we basically need a freak result.

Aye I worry about Wednesday more so with the injuries picked up today.

Can't see us getting through, and the fume will be palpable.

Mate, respectfully, why is it exciting? It's exciting because we score goals, yes....and the teams we're playing ALSO score goals? That's why it's a spectacle for the impartial. For me that's not exciting; it's a problem...

And it's a problem that's not being addressed.

The 'he will have his squad next season' bit. He's a manager, it's his duty to manage the players he has...and he isn't.

And - and again with sincere respect - where does this level of expectation attached to him come from? I GENUINELY don't get what it's based on...

i think its exciting because it is at times. Bright quick attacking play from young talented players. When its good its very very good. I dont think its exciting because there is loads of goals every game....just enjoy how we play.

The level of expectation from some fans I guess comes from having a manager who prioritises attacking football and giving youngsters their chance. A very positive manager. I get that the constant positivity grates on some, but have no idea why anybody pays attention to post match comments and such. I think it was Johnny Giles who said all managers talk nonsense in interviews like that. I like that our boss is extremely positive in his outlook even in bad times and very positive about our club.

Things look like they are managed very well in the youth teams aswell. We had 11 years of a different type of football which was more often than not, horrendously dull IMO, and I am willing to wait with patience whilst a new manager with a different approach does his thing.

Newcastle game is the biggest this season now, forget any cup semi finals. Lose that one and we're 5 ahead of them with Stoke and west brom to come up afterwards (probably not the Derby too thankfully). Big month ahead

Some serious "Martinez Out" sentiment amongst the supporters outside the stadium today. I'm sure most will come back onside if we win on Wednesday, but it was certainly the most anti-Martinez I've seen a crowd in a long time

The mumurings of discontent has certainly started to become louder. If we go out of the cup on Wednesday I don't think he'll be here come next season.

Plot?!

The plotters are the reason we've only won 3 league games since September (against the bottom 3). They're also to blame for having Everton conceding the most goals at home in the pl this season.

Damn plotters.

Relegation isn't an issue this season, but the fact it is even mentioned with our squad shows something is wrong.

His record since the first season is terrible, he has a terrible defensive record as a manager. Time to get someone in who can continue the attacking football but actually practices defending.
